This divorce between The Valley stars Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor is an uphill battle. They are now at the stage where they have to decide how to handle their remaining coupled finances. After all, the two shared a home in Valley Village, which reportedly had a $2.2 million mortgage. Yikes.
This isn’t the only thing that they have to settle in their joint finances. Before their split, the former couple were the hosts of the When Reality Hits podcast. At the initial start of their separation, they were sharing custody of the podcast, each taking turns per episode. This also meant that they would be able to split the profit from it 50/50. But, now that it has been completely rebranded to feature only Brittany, is Jax still in its financial picture? They just tried to clear things up … and failed.

Both Brittany and Jax were featured in The Valley After Show for Season 2, Episode 8. It was during the segment that Brittany claimed that her ex still holds a crucial piece of the podcast, and refuses to give it up.
“Now he’s taking the longest time ever to sign over the RSS feed, because it’s worth a lot of money. And he is just holding [it] over my head, every little thing I do,” she explained in the June 3rd episode.
Of course, Jax denied this and said that he’d already given her the RSS. Who knows who’s telling the truth at this point.
Another aspect of their finances that they can’t seem to agree upon is their house. Whilst Jax has successfully moved out and left Brittany and Cruz the family home, Brittany says she’s left with the debt. Specifically, she’s arguing that Jax neglected to pay their mortgage for months, and now she has to pick up the slack. In true back and forth format, Jax says that’s a lie.
“The house is going to her. I gave it to her fully. It’s gonna go in her name. The mortgage has been paid off. I paid it off while I was in rehab. I wrote a check.”
Clearly someone is telling the truth and someone is not. Maybe that will all be revealed in the reunion.
