Drake Will Have His Own Radio Station In GTA 6, Says Music Producer

Drake will have his own Radio Station in Grand Theft Auto 6 according to Music Producer Jermaine Dupri. Ahead of its launch next year, we may have just had our first real insight into what the Radio Stations in Grand Theft Auto 6 could look like, with artists potentially having their own stations that they could upload music to in the game.

Music Producer Jermaine Dupri revealed in a new episode of the New Rory and Mal podcast, that he was approached about Grand Theft Auto and artists, such as Drake, having their own radio stations in the game. “They asked me to do Grand Theft Auto, and they were saying like Drake got his own radio station on Grand Theft Auto.” During the podcast he also mentions the possibility of artists, such as Drake, being able to include unreleased tracks in game that is new just for Grand Theft Auto.

Every Rumor About GTA 6’s Radio Stations

A Number Of Artists Linked To GTA 6

This isn’t the first rumor we have heard about GTA 6’s Radio Stations, with a number of other artists already being linked to the title, before this update regarding Drake. This includes Kendrick Lamar having his own station similar to Drake. DJ Khaled has also been rumored to not have his own station, but to be the host on one of them, which would follow in a long line of celebrities appearing in the game.

GTA 6’s Characters Are One Thing I Never Expected From The Franchise, But I Doubt That Feeling Will Last

Grand Theft Auto 6’s protagonists seem like the hardened criminals one expects from the series, but they also seem like a surprising change of pace.

Megan Thee Stallion, previously posted an Instagram photo with a Vice City lookalike backdrop and has been followed by Rockstar on the platform. While one seemingly confirmed artist is T-Pain, who himself has talked about his involvement with Rockstar ahead of the game’s release next year.

Is Drake A Good FIt For GTA 6?

A Number Of Previous Stations That He Would Fit Alongside

During the podcast, Dupri does not mention GTA 6 directly, just Grand Theft Auto, but this would be a huge step for a series that is known for pushing the boundaries. However, if this does prove to be the case, Drake would potentially be the perfect fit for GTA6. Having one of the biggest celebrities in the world closely associated with GTA6 would be a huge feather in the cap for Rockstar ahead of the most eagerly anticipated game launch in history.

Across the previous Grand Theft Auto entries, there have been a host of radio stations that Drake would fit alongside well with the genres they cover. On GTA 5, Radio Los Santos played modern rap music, while The Lab and Blonded Los Santos both played some huge Hip-hop and R&B tracks. Among the characters and information released in recent months, music artists are going to play a big part in the story, meaning Drake fits in even more with the narrative they are looking for.

The tracks currently heard on the in-game trailers are very different from Drake’s music, but given that GTA 5 had 22 completely different music stations, GTA 6 is likely to push the boundaries further in terms of the genres it covers. Artists, including Drake, having their own stations, with the possibility of uploading new content would be a new high for Grand Theft Auto 6‘s soundtrack and proof they are so far ahead of the competition.
