Friends actor Jessica Hecht has revealed that she was almost cast in the role of series regular Monica Geller.
Per Entertainment Weekly, Hecht reveals that she auditioned for the role of Monica, ultimately losing out to eventual series regular star Courteney Cox. The Susan Bunch actress revealed that she feels she lost out on the role because of her size, and the fact that she was bigger than the rest of the main cast. She also reveals she felt she would have been more like Lisa Kudrow’s Phoebe in the role. Check out Hecht’s comments below:
“I think looking at me back then, I’m tall and I just had a bigger size than the rest. Now I look at it, and I think how perfect Courteney was, I would have been more of a Lisa [Kudrow], just physically and energetically.”
