The Bachelor season 27 star Zach Shallcross ended his journey engaged to Kaity Biggar, and he now reveals if he wants to continue to appear on reality television. Bachelor Nation first met Zach in 2022 when he appeared on Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey’s season of The Bachelorette. He had a strong connection with Rachel, and even went to the Fantasy Suite with her. However, after that experience, Zach self-eliminated when he felt that Rachel turned into a completely different person behind closed doors. He became the Bachelor in 2023, during which he got engaged to Kaity Biggar.
In an interview with TMZ, The Bachelor season 27 star Zach Shallcross shared that he’s ready to leave reality television behind.
Zach admitted that, during filming, he thought about his previous job as a tech executive at Oracle, and considered if he wanted to go back to it. He explained that the show is a “really unique break” as participants put their lives “on pause.” During filming Zach realized that he wanted to quickly “get back into normalcy again.” However, he acknowledged that the commitments after the show make that difficult. Zach shared that his goal with the show wasn’t to write “a Bachelor book or anything like that.”
The Bachelor’s Zach Shallcross Reveals Dream Job
Although Zach revealed that he’s been talking with tech companies because he’s ready to get back to normal, he confessed that the entertainment industry isn’t completely off the table for him. He said that he thinks TV and influencing life is “cool” and “very interesting.” He doesn’t want to say it’s something he’ll never get back into. Zach shared that his “ideal dream job would be to actually be a voice actor for cartoons” because that’s his “passion.” He explained that his uncle, Patrick Warburton, is a very successful voice actor. He grew up watching him and was his fan. Zach added, “I think I’ve got a pretty unique voice.”
Although Zach did well in the fantasy Bachelor environment, he was at his best when he could be his true self. This was especially evident during Kaity’s hometown date in Austin. Because Kaity had only lived in Austin for a few weeks, she needed some help settling into her new home. Zach behaved like a devoted boyfriend, running errands with her, such as grocery and flower shopping. They also set up her house, including building a bookshelf together. It was clear that Zach enjoyed the normalcy of that date more than any of the over-the-top ones that he experienced during his time as the Bachelor.
It’s no surprise that Zach wants to return to his normal life after The Bachelor season 27. He’s a down-to-Earth guy who appreciates the simple things in life. Kaity has since returned to her job as a nurse as well. Zach will always have a connection to the entertainment industry through his uncle, so he could fulfill his dream of being a voice actor some day as well. Zach’s goal to return to his normal life proves that he was on The Bachelor for the right reasons.
