Olivia Rodrigo dropped the supreme nostalgia on her followers via a few shots from her downstairs hallway of what might soon be her former apartment in NYC. The caption read: “in honor of me moving out of my nyc apartment here are some pics I have taken in the hallway over the years 🤠” The singer was actually with friends posing in front of an elevator-look picture garbed from leather jackets to some casual sweaters. These tiny moments meant a lot to her while she was living there, with thousand reasons for others who are going bonkers!

For one, the utter randomness pushed everyone into conversation. One went, “totally chaotic but I love the fourth photo,” followed by another commenting, “so random but I love it.” Just like with Olivia- wether she’ll give you predictability or not- it’s always a good one. But it was something deeper than just this. There was a feeling of intent behind the pictures: she was bidding farewell to a chapter of her life, and the emotional weight was felt immediately by her fans.
Of course, with the internet always able to zoom it upward fast, theories arose. No questions remain: Where is she moving now? Theories flooded in, with the most common guess being England. “You’re moving to England aren’t you,” said one of the comments, sparking a wave of mixed responses. Funny, though, are the next few words: “ela odeia trabalhar. lança um album a cada 100 anos” (she hates working. releases albums every 100 years). That’s some impressive shade right there!
Understandably, not everyone much appreciated the jokes. One commenter, who went on to write an essay on how Olivia’s music helped him through anxiety and depression, called her his “biggest inspiration.” Another simple tribute said, “I love you so much, you have no idea you really have no idea 💜.” Those comments ranged all over the place, emotionally.
Then the chat welcomed Conan Gray, who commented, “big apple hallway you will be missed,” and his fan base responded with apple-related gibberish. Classic Conan.
The takeaway? Olivia is planting her feet firmly somewhere else as we speak, and people cannot seem to process the whirlwind of emotion that accompanies this fact, which ironically will have the internet go into a frenzy about her love life. But more than anything else, this was just the sweetest little farewell to a space that clearly meant a lot to her. Wherever she’s headed—London or another point within NYC—those fans will be all over every leaked clue.
