Cody Bellinger Makes History With First Career Three Homer Game For New York Yankees

Yankee fans are really impressed by Cody Bellinger. The outfielder hit three homers in one game for the first time in his career, which in itself is a historic instance for him in his terrific season. There was an official Yankees congratulatory post on social media for Bellinger while he was shown mid-swing with a bat in hand with the iconic Yankees logo shining behind. The caption read, “Cody for 3️⃣! Congrats on your 1st career 3-homer game.”

What if I told you Bellinger was almost going to have four? One wrong call, as many viewers claimed, denied Bellinger his fourth home run, since there was one that might have been claimed by an opposing outfielder. “He hit 4. One was stolen from him,” stated one. Another said, “Would have been 4 if Tucker didn’t rob one.” That was no mood dampener, and if anything, the robbing of the home run almost penalized discussions in praise of Bellinger’s show and in questioning whether he’s simply been disregarded this year.

About being slighted, a few brought up the All-Star snub. “How is he not an all star and J Rod is 😂,” asked one commenter, sparking a mini-debate. Another said in candor, “SHOULDVE BEEN AN ALL STAR 🤬.” That frustration felt warranted, as Bellinger’s numbers have been totally outlandish this year, and there’s more than enough evidence, especially with this 3-homer night, for a Bellinger All-Star.

The comments sure had a positive vibe. Present fans weren’t celebrating just Bellinger’s big night; they celebrated the rise of the Yankees. “Dodgers lose 7 in a row Yankees win streak continues baseball is great!” one user quipped, enjoying the contrast between Bellinger’s former and current teams. Others were just glad to witness such a moment, whether live or on a screen. “Was there, he almost had 4! He should be an allstar!” said another, while another admitted: “This was awesome to watch on the tv as I was watching the railriders lol.”

Then the discussion was back to the robbed home run. “Should’ve had a 4-homer game,” argued one, to which another responded, “No. Should’ve had a 3-homer game.” A third chimed in, “Part of baseball involves other players doing things defensively that affect your offensive performance.” A sarcastic reply followed: “You seem fun.” That’s just how they like to banter, even during celebration.

The post was textbook Yankees momentum-building stuff: highlight post implying enhanced energy in the Bronx. The codification of Bellinger’s home run delivery and Judge’s home-run-saving catch (which was most certainly not the hardest of hits that night) only injected a ton of energy into Bronx Vibes. This red-eyed Bronx enthusiast sums it all up perfectly: “Hey great job Cody two home runs six RBIs… judge the only one not getting a hit today which does happen, but he also saved a home run great catch. That’s why you’re the MVP.”

Whether Bellinger is referred to lately as an All-Star or not, this performance has cemented him in the Yankee’s lineup as a big. And judging by the comments alone, the fans can’t wait for his next display. Three-homer games are rare. Almost getting a fourth? That takes a great night to iconic.

So that’s it, folks. Baseball very much has that romance. Or what one fan commented: “how you can’t be romántic with baseball?” There’s no arguing after a night like this.
