Apple TV+ Hit with 95% RT Score Cuts Path To Most Emmy Nominations

It’s the moment TV actors, producers, directors, writers, and other members of the cast and crew have been waiting for. While it’s a dream to work in television production for a living, many also dream of winning an Emmy. It’s one of the most prestigious awards. The 77th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards nominations were announced on July 15, 2025, and some fan-favorite shows snagged one or two, while Apple TV+’s popular series Severance received double-digit nominations.

According to Deadline, the hit thriller series created by Dan Erickson leads with a whopping 27 nominations. The categories include Outstanding Drama, Outstanding Lead Actor (Adam Scott, who plays Mark S.), Outstanding Lead Actress (Britt Lower, who plays Helly R), Outstanding Directing for Ben Stiller and Jessica Lee Gagné, and Outstanding Writing for Dan Erickson. Severance follows employees at Lumon Industries, a biotechnology corporation. The workers have undergone a medical procedure called severance, which ensures they forget about the outside world while at work and, when they leave, they have no recollection of their job. This results in the employees having two personalities, described as innie (exists at work) and outie (personal lives outside of work).
