The newly released video went viral following its release by the New York Jets. Considering the horrible track record of the team, these sorts of reactions are what one would expect to see. There was a very aestheticz reveal by Adam Schefter, with wood finishings, mood lighting, and charging ports capable of charging an entire small city, but the responses seemed heavy with the sarcasm relating to all that the team has been going through.

“‘Better spaces for sulking after losses,’ said one user, perfectly capturing the sentiment, while another sighed, ‘All this to go 2-15 is wild.’” The jokes rolled on as people lamented how unfit these imperious facilities somehow felt for a few bad nights on the field: variations of “All this just to go [insert terrible record here]” kept flooding the replies. Some even went so far as to recommend a stripper pole be installed for the maximum entertainment value of another losing season.

The comments hurt because down deep they mean …”well, they’re true.” The Jets haven’t won a Super Bowl since way back when Nixon was in office (for the younger set, ’69), and truly the last few seasons have been a real rough ride, although there was an occasional glimmer of faint hope. One new age fan, after cheering for a “sick” logo and colors, bemoaned the fact that “they’ve been ass for 40 years,” a statement whose sincerest affirmation most respondents shared.
The cynics weren’t all of them, though. Others had the best of facilities assisting in bringing in the free agents, with one saying, “You need things like this to convince people to play for bad teams.” So, at least the players can now watch the highlight package of losing a game from the comfort of an air-conditioned room sitting in ergonomic chairs!
The most unexpectedly poetical comment was made in honor of days gone: “IN THE OLD STADIUM, LEON HESS ACCIDENTALLY TRIPPED ON MY EQUIPMENT BAG AND FELL TO HIS KNEES AT AGE 81.” That is the kind of gritty nostalgia what LED lighting will never be able to make up for.
One of the commentaries just agreed: if this locker room is all that, it is tremendously good looking (literally nicer than your average luxury apartment), but that is the point where most fans now start saying, “Okay, cool, now how about winning some games?” One particularly outraged fan succinctly summed up the collective anger: “Can’t tell you how pissed I’d be if my team sucked and all they really did was put out a dumb video on a new locker room like that’s supposed to hype fans and put Ws on the board.”

Clearly, an awful lot of money was pumped by the Jets organization into player comforts and recruiting tools. Whether it leads to wins remains to be seen, but at the very least, the internet decided to crown the team as “Super Bowl champs of locker rooms” – probably the most backhanded compliment the NFL has ever seen.
