Four weeks after its Netflix debut, Squid Game season 3 continues to dominate the global streaming charts. Squid Game seasons 1 and 2 are the first and second most-watched non-English seasons of a show in Netflix history, and season 3 was expected to continue this unprecedented viewership.
Even though Squid Game season 3’s reviews were more mixed than in the prior seasons, the final episodes wasted no dominating the streaming charts. During season 3’s first week on the streaming platform, June 23-June 30, it took the top spot in Netflix’s global non-English rankings.
Now in its fourth week on Netflix, Squid Game season 3 is still ranked in the top spot of Netflix’s non-English shows. The last season of the hit series added 7.8 million views during the most recent week, July 14-20, which brings the overall total to 130 million all-time views.
What This Means For Squid Game
Squid Game Is In A Class Of Its Own
Squid Game season 3’s ending being divisive has not had any kind of adverse impact on the show’s streaming numbers, which continue to be unparalleled almost a full month after its debut. Millions of viewers around the globe are still watching and rewatching how the story of Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) concludes.
An American Squid Game spinoff series has not been officially announced yet, but between the setup in season 3’s final moments and the show’s ongoing streaming success, it seems all but inevitable to happen. Squid Game‘s global appeal is unmatched, and Netflix will surely want to continue capitalizing on this in the future.
In the meantime, it will be intriguing to see how much longer Squid Game season 3 can maintain its hold on the top spot in Netflix’s non-English show rankings, along with whether it can surpass season 2’s 192.6 million views to become the second most-watched non-English season of all time. That is likely the farthest it can go given season 1’s 265.2 million views.

The Show Goes Out On Top
As someone who found Squid Game season 3 to be a deeply satisfying ending to the series, I’m happy to see that its viewership is still thriving. Some shows fail to make as much of an impact as they progress, but Squid Game remained a genuine popular culture phenomenon from beginning to end.
