Keith Urban could not have given his fans what they starred for anymore: a live extended version of Long Hot Summer. Lengthier than 7 minutes, it’s a recording from the High And Alive World Tour, turning a 4-minute 33-second studio edition into a thrilling guitar extravaganza.

The post captures Urban jokingly blaming the guitar solo for making it really long considering the song is called Long Hot Summer, expressing his gratitude in advance to all the fans for bearing the extended version that is truly epic. Judging by the numerous comments and praises from the audience, it appears none entreats the extra length at all.
One excited fan commented, ‘Long Hot Summer is a BLAST! All seven minutes of it!!! I’m so glad you released it!’ She was surely excited to have a recorded point of reference for what the show had felt like. One more said, ‘Next to seeing you live…this is the best! Live album to come too! Soooo excited!’ Perhaps a nod to more live recordings soon.
The live version pretty much captures the vibe Urban brings to his shows, with many comments recalling events from shows he’d put together. One comment stated, “Best part of the concert,” while one more said, “Seeing KU Live is a Blast,” referring to Urban’s initials as any real fan would call him. Most comments were filled with praise for his guitar skills and stage presence, with a few saying, “Best guitarist and entertainer ever!”
Others were not so interested; one deemed it necessary to comment, “he is a Scorpio,” as if that explained his musical talents. Another asked, “Which show is the recording from?” which just indicates the dedication of fans possibly having been to several tour stops.
The international flair could be seen, with one Portuguese comment asking, “Quando você vem para o Brasil?” confirming Urban’s worldwide reach. A practical-minded fan took to the comments to suggest to Urban, “Come to Columbus Ohio plzzzz,” while also chipping in with “I can’t wait to see you in Greenville, SC!!”
Random comments started to pour in, one in particular was promoting a Kindle book, which was absolutely unrelated to music. Such is life: the few will use every opportunity to self-promote, even on posts from celebrities.
Regardless, most comments were from fans pouring their appreciation toward Urban’s talent and the ability to reincarnate for one more time the feeling of being at a live show albeit through these live recordings. As her summation put it best: ‘Ya…it’s just such a hardship listening too…the pleasure is ALL ours!!!’ that was soon eclipsed by the barrage of emojis longer than the time spent indulging in the so-called torture of that calculatingly long guitar solo.
This post alone, much like the response, highlights Urban’s connection with his audience. Whether he’s extending a guitar solo or engaging in banter with online fans, he knows what the people want: to hear more music, they want wild energy, and lots of that Keith Urban charisma. Long Hot Summer Live is loaded with all that and a few extras, proving that some songs need to breathe and evolve when given a chance to be stretched out onstage.

Here’s the good news: if that is not good enough for you, then this DT might be the start. There were so many indications in the comments that a live album would be released sooner rather than later, a perfect way to give fans more chances to enjoy Urban’s amazing shows from home. Until then, this near 7-minute megahit is the only remedy for your itch.
