Denise Welch recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live. Here, this English actress and television personality opened up about her son, Matty Healy’s, former relationship with Taylor Swift. With all the shade in her possession, Denise dropped many details about this former pairing. Overall, she is thrilled that Matt and Taylor are never, ever, getting back together.
But Denise did not stop there. She also candidly spoke about all things Bravo. Her statements included the various Real Housewives stars that she loves, alongside those she would rather never see again on this network. Like host Andy Cohen noted on WWHL, Denise is the mother of Matty. As the audience hollered over this fact, Denise smiled. Then, Andy noted that Taylor penned an entire album, The Tortured Poets Department, based on her former relationship with Matty, and this caused the smile on Denise’s face to wane.
When Andy asked Denise what her reaction was to this album, Denise sighed. Then, she gagged everyone by saying, “Obviously, on pain of death, [only then] can I talk about that episode, but not being her mother-in-law is a role that I’m glad that I lost.” Following loud gasps from his studio audience, the cameras panned to Andy, who looked shocked. Denise then quickly softened her words, explaining that she does not feel “anything against” Taylor.
Instead, the fallout from their relationship “was tricky,” Denise clarified. “You’re not allowed to say anything, and then she [Taylor] writes a whole album about it,” Denise noted. She was referencing the fact that anyone who speaks out negatively against Taylor tends to get taken to the mats online by her loyal, sometimes brash fans.
Thankfully, “Matty has taken it all in good grace. He is happy with his amazing fiancée,” Denise stressed. In their house, everyone has “moved on” from their up-close and personal Taylor era, she said.
Denise went on to give her opinion on Bravo’s program lineup
While Denise cushioned her statements about Taylor, she failed to do the same for certain stars on Bravo. Case in point, Andy next engaged Denise in a game called Clubhouse Quickie, Bravo Edition. As for the rules, Andy asks a question, and his guest, in this case, Denise, must quickly reply.
First, Andy asked Denise which shows or episodes she might suggest to any of her non-Bravo-watching friends to help get them hooked. In response, Denise picked the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Specifically, the episodes that covered their trip to Amsterdam.
However, the franchise she feels is the strongest is the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. As for which Real Housewife star Denise might like to see making “a triumphant return someday,” Denise chose Lisa Vanderpump. Andy liked this idea. But then, he asked her the opposite, wanting to know which star she would cast out forever on Bravo.
“It would be two,” Denise answered. And these two are none other than Tamra Judge and Jennifer Aydin, she said. Denise failed to give reasons for why she chose Jennifer. But she did reserve a heated explanation for Tamra.
“It’s because I think that what we Bravo superfans love is these intelligent and funny women across all the franchises. And I think that one of the best things about it is the shade and the funny lines. But when that shade turns to meaniness and nastiness, I don’t like it,” Denise noted.
But Denise does like Captain Jason Chambers, Captain Lee Rosbach, and Daisy Kelliher from the various Below Deck series.
On the last question, Denise said that the most frustrated she has ever felt was when Bo Dietl appeared on Real Housewives of New Jersey. Same, girl, SAME.
