The pretty little UK seaside town that’s home to stunning beaches | Travel News | Travel

This pretty town is one that can’t be missed this summer and it’s one where you won’t have to fight for a space to put your towel down on its beaches. Finding a beach in the UK without the tourists can be hard but in this quiet spot you’ll be able to soak up the scenery in peace.

Portrush is a small market town in Northern Ireland and it’s a place tourists often overlook. Known for its beaches and incredible scenery, the town boasts an exciting array of things to do for its visitors.

If you plan on making the trip, you can’t miss a trip to the beach.

One person who visited East Strand beach said: “Great place to run, walk up the dunes, spend time with the family, and the list goes on.

“One of the best beaches in Britain, surely. The views of the coast both to the East and West are amazing.”

Another penned: “One of the nicest, cleanest beaches you are likely to have the pleasure to enjoy.

“Great walk to the White rocks and back. The sand dunes are stunning and when the sun shines, it is hard to find a better place anywhere…”

Another exciting thing to do while you’re in the area is to take the Portrush to Portstewart walk.

If you’re looking for active things to do around Portrush, the walk from Portrush Harbour out to Saint Patrick’s Well in Portstewart is worth a bash, says The Irish Road Trip.

Although it’s around 3 hours in length (there and back), this is an easyish stroll that follows a chunk of the Causeway Coast Way Walk, it adds.

Along the route, you’ll see beaches, Ballyreagh Castle, coves and views out to Donegal’s Inishowen Peninsula.

Another visitor on Tripadvisor said: “My wife and I visited on a Wednesday morning. The site was not very crowded and the staff were excellent. Everyone should see it!”

If you’re looking to take part in some sports activities while you’re in the area, there’s plenty of places to play golf or go surfing.

You can also stop off at the range of cosy pubs and cafes dotted around the town. For a quiet, peaceful and scenic holiday, Portrush could be the ideal place to enjoy a break this summer.
