Breaking the news for food lovers with another gastronomic journey: dinner plans can be scrapped if you are anywhere around the Hudson Valley. Bachelor-turned-foodie Matt took to Instagram to carry Miss Lucy’s Kitchen into the fame of being the “best hole in the wall restaurant” in the Catskills, and with such tasty descriptions, we can attest to his sincerity.

He had to don the critic’s hat to clothe his explanation of the meal! It began with Croissant bread French toast (yes: croissant bread, because regular toast is for peasants). Topped with seasonal berries and local New York maple syrup, this dish alone could sweeten the cause of a road trip. For mac-and-cheese lovers, the triple-cheese one cannot be skipped, as Matt said. Bold statement, but you gotta trust him on cheese!

Wait, hold on as several more sugar words come up. Here she is: Cheddar cheeseburger with thick bacon and locally sourced beef which allegedly changes the perception of a burger. Sausage, egg, and cheese on house-made cheddar biscuits. And if that doesn’t end with dessert, Matt settled on three different ones. Has anyone booked for peach and blueberry crisp with ice cream? What about the Dubai chocolate ice cream sandwich? We should probably book a table right away.

The comment section turned the hype into a professional affair! One fan weighs in, “Oh my, you’re in my neck of the woods! Miss Lucy’s is the best!” while another declares, “Looks like a gem 💎.” Yet the one who pointed at the French toast stole the show: “That French Toast made my mouth water!” Same, friend. Same.

Even fellow foodie friends fell prey to the siren call of carbs, with comments running far and wide. One joked, “I wish I had your metabolism lol.” Another demanded verification that the syrup was genuinely locally made, holding Matt to account: “Can you guarantee that the syrup is local?” When it comes to maple syrup, one must have the truth.

Miss Lucy’s Kitchen is an experience, not just food, and Matt James blew it. Formally, the place is on the must-go list in Hudson Valley, whether you are a local or just passing through. And if you skip the mac and cheese, well, as Matt says… Unacceptable.
