Welcome To Plathville season 7 has been leading up to this massive wedding event, but it was noticeable when Lydia Plath and Zac Wyse tied the knot that something crucial was missing from the ceremony. Lydia and Zac’s wedding has been the focal point of Welcome To Plathville season 7, and it didn’t disappoint when it finally hit the air.
Lydia and Zac have been looking for the approval of the larger Plath family, and though they’ve acceptance from Barry Plath, there aren’t many other family members who were excited for the wedding. Lydia’s mother, Kim Plath, her older brothers Ethan Plath and Micah Plath, and her younger brother Isaac Plath were all on the fence about Zac and the wedding.
While Lydia and Zac knew they’d still be going through with the wedding, they wanted the family’s approval before heading into their big day. Unfortunately, when they reached out to talk, they were met with pushback from nearly all of the Plaths. By the time the ceremony came around, the pair made a controversial, somewhat hypocritical decision about their wedding.
Lydia & Zac Opted For Their Officiant Not To Ask For Objections
They’d Had An Argument With The Family
Although Welcome To Plathville has been setting up Lydia’s wedding event throughout the season, it’s become clear in recent episodes that the majority of the Plath family isn’t on board with how quickly Lydia and Zac chose to get married. From Ethan’s objections citing Zac’s sexuality to Kim feeling like it was too fast, the Plaths have been struggling to accept Lydia’s decision.
During their wedding, the tension was continually building as the ceremony continued with Ethan, Micah, and Isaac seeming like they may choose to object once the officiant asked the crowd. As the ceremony went on, it became clear that the brothers were at the ready, but Lydia and Zac opted for the officiant to skip the objections, shocking the attendees.
Ethan & Micah Planned To Object, Regardless Of Hypocrisy
Their Partners Haven’t Been Accepted Either
While Lydia and Zac are clearly happily in love, Ethan and Micah specifically have been upfront about how difficult they find it to accept their decision to get married. Though Ethan is now divorced, his marriage to Olivia Plath was thrown together quickly without much care for what the rest of the family thought. Ethan and Olivia’s relationship was fraught, causing familial chaos.
While Micah isn’t married to Veronica Peters, her behavior toward him and around the Plath family has been difficult to swallow. Veronica hasn’t been accepted by the Plaths, making her relationship with Micah incredibly tough. Micah and Ethan have both had difficult relationships, so pushing back against Lydia’s marriage has been particularly hypocritical to watch as Welcome To Plathville continues on.
Welcome To Plathville airs at 10 p.m. EDT on TLC.
