Dave Portnoy isn’t impressed with Tom Brady cloning his pooch. In a post on X, the Barstool Sports founder wrote: “I’m a dog guy and a Brady guy. This is weird as f*ck.”

Earlier this week, Tom revealed that his dog Lua is a clone of Lulu. The NFL star worked with a biotech company for the controversial procedure. He said in a statement: “I love my animals. They mean the world to me and my family. A few years ago, I worked with Colossal and leveraged their non-invasive cloning technology through a simple blood draw of our family’s elderly dog before she passed.”
Tom’s wife, model Gisele Bündchen, revealed that Lulu had passed away in December 2023. In an Instagram post, she wrote: “Our little Lulu, our guardian angel is gone to heaven. She will forever live in our hearts. We already miss her sooooo much!”
Tom worked with Colossal Biosciences for the cloning, which focuses on de-extinction and genetic engineering. He is an investor in the biotech enterprise. The company made headlines earlier this year when it announced it had cloned three dire wolves. It was later noted by scientists that the pups weren’t true clones, but modern wolves with edited genes to appear like dire wolves.
