Shep Rose Embarks On A Cultural Hunting Trip In Saskatchewan And Buys A Special Gift

Shep Rose is a hot topic nowadays, not just for his chic way of living but also for his new trip to Saskatchewan. The Canada trip was a nice excuse for visiting different cultures, making a delicate hand-painted shield for his dad, and even donating the meat from his kill to the nearby Sweetgrass First Nation community.

Shep Rose, a Southern Charm mainstay, has a thirst for a good adventure but his latest trip to Saskatchewan has gone over and above an ordinary hunting trip. From the start, the adventurer has been showing a touch of the mixing of his natural disposition of being adventurous and the respect of the indigenous people’s view of life. He illustrated being in ‘uncharted territory’ to fascinate and rouse ‘child-like curiosity and wonder’ thereby starting a trip that was clearly more than just trophy hunting.

Thanks to the hunting outfitter who contributed to making this adventure happen, Rose met Darwin Atcheynum, a member of the Sweetgrass First Nation. Atcheynum is someone who makes and repairs traditional items and regalia. Rose spent some hours with Atcheynum, calling the latter ‘so cool.’ Atcheynum invited Rose to wear different pieces while telling the story, delicate details, and meaning of the items. This mutual experience ended with Rose getting the hand-painted shield which was displayed on his Instagram post. It was for the father of a boy who is already a keen collector of Native American culture and arrowheads.

Besides the cultural encounter, the trip became a successful hunt. Rose claimed that he managed to take down a young mule deer. In a very humane and kind gesture that melted his audience’s hearts, he mentioned that he opted to share most of the meat with the Sweetgrass tribe so they could feed on it during the winter. This was perceived as a very significant and respectful act marking the end of his journey.

The skincare post was full of positive comments, with the majority expressing their admiration for the way he respectably dealt with the situation. An Indigenous Canadian user said, ‘As an Indigenous Canadian, I am very glad you took the opportunity to discover and understand this! I hope your Dad loves the piece.’ Another user, who probably has similar feelings, commented, ‘Thank you for sharing & respecting our First Nation culture.’

There were a few Canadian commenters who extended an open invitation for them to return and explore more of Canada. One of them wrote, ‘Love to see you here in Canada experiencing indigenous culture and people.’ This clearly made Rose respond that he would be back next July for the Calgary stampede. His comment opened a debate among excited Canadians providing more travel tips, one of them advising, ‘while you’re there make sure to visit Lake Louise and Banff.’

The post also encouraged people to ask useful things, one of which was the question, ‘What is the name of the store? I want to buy a few things from there.’ Another person kindly directed him to ‘Google “Darwin Atcheynum,” and you will find his Facebook profile where he has regalia for sale,’ revealing the public’s desire to connect with the craftsman’s work.

Most of the comments were very positive but there were also a few that criticized the event in a historical context. One such observation said ‘when you think that some time ago, the whole land that your family now owns actually belonged to native Americans, it is not surprising you do some stupid stuff like this.’ It is a reminder of the hard and often painful history that any modern cultural exchange is built upon.

Many of the reality star’s longtime fans interpreted his experiences as a demonstration of a positive transformation in his character. One comment read: ‘Shep! Thank you for sharing! I have been a viewer for quite some time. I really appreciate the way you grow!!!’ Another one just said, ‘I’m down with this version of @relationshep!’

Rose’s trip to Saskatchewan had three aspects—huge catch, great culture understanding, and a charitable act. The so-called thorough and double discussions have opened the public’s door to a growing appreciation of travel not only as a means of adventure but also for cultural and community building. The trip was a life simmering experience for Rose who ended his post with the words, ‘I will not forget this day or trip soon.’ His recent travel to Scotland was similarly praised for its cultural appreciation.
