Lauren Goodger is gradually overcoming her psychological issues by revealing to everyone her first appointment with a hypnotherapist who is indeed the best in her case. The former reality star depicted her hypnotherapy visit in London, projecting her strong desire to recover not just for herself but most importantly for her little girl. And the post was so powerful that it got a large number of comments from the online community of people with similar problems who were ready to share their experiences and provide support.

Lauren Rose Goodger is like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon; she is doing hypnotherapy at Adam Cumberland’s clinic and is a very open and comprehensive person leading us through her metamorphoses. She described her session and talked about “severe anxiety, health anxiety, and old traumas that still affect me today.” Thus, every day she fights the battle of mental and physical exhaustion, and she tells that although her home situation with her daughter is like a “safe bubble,” the bad days have made it clear that professional help is needed.

Her video was an intimate one and showed the entire experience. With the usual pre-session prayer she got prepared, then went to have breakfast with her friend who is a black taxi driver, and finally to the famous Harley Street where Goodger was quite open about her fears and at the same time expressed her hopes. The whole stay lasted nearly four hours but only one and a half hours was spent actually in the hypnotic state. Goodger was very enthusiastic to clear a common misconception about hypnosis when she said, “It’s not the old-school hypnotism.” She left the session feeling physically exhausted but mentally full of hope and also had during that time planned some homework for herself before seeing the therapist in 25 days.

It took no time for her to get very encouraging and supportive reactions for coming out of her shell. Many people praised her for her courage and one of them wrote, “You are an absolute Queen Lauren don’t forget your worth.” Another commenter, “Good on you Lauren I hope it helps you to overcome things….Got friends who swear by it!” In fact, this admiration was echoed by many people who had their stories of getting better and thus built a community of hope and belonging. One individual said, “I had hypnotherapy after suffering agoraphobia for years and it worked so well I wish I had done it sooner.”

The topic also opened the question of what really could have been the reason behind her choice of treatment. Whenever one commenter wondered, “Just out of curiosity why are you going to a hypnotherapist as opposed to a psychotherapist?” Goodger took the time to reply herself and gave very telling insight into her feelings. “I prefer hypnotherapy,” she said. “I’m not a fan of spending years in therapy going over the past. I’d rather focus on the future and move forward faster. For me, anxiety doesn’t always feel real, so I’m really hoping hypnotherapy works!” Through the above conversation, Goodger was able to stress her proactive and forward-looking approach to healing.

Her supporters had the same continuous plus other wellness recommendations like naturopathy and gut health, EMDR therapy, etc. One very supportive comment came from a person who claimed to be a therapist and wrote, “As a normal therapist, I wish you lots of luck… the key factor is that you have developed a relationship of trust with him, and you feel safe with him, which is so crucial for your own growth.” This statement pinpoints the fundamental truth about the success of therapy—the trust and the sense of security between the client and the therapist are the most important factors.

Though the greater part of the commentary has been very favorable, there were still a few who adopted a more spiritual approach, for instance, a user commented, “Only Jesus Christ can cure No human can do it,” and another one remarked, “The moment you realize that anxiety is 100% and completely caused by your own thoughts, that will be the moment you will start to heal.” The different opinions illustrate the diversity in people’s beliefs as to the mental health challenges’ causes and the treatments.

A very significant point that was present in the discussion was that everybody admired Goodger’s honesty. Such comments as, “So happy to see this and thank you for promoting hypnotherapy and explaining how being hypnotised isn’t what people think it is!!” were claiming her as a sort of celebrity using her celebrity status to demystify a treatment and normalize the pursuit of mental wellness. In fact, by being so candid about her healing process, Lauren Goodger is not only looking for her own healing but also, unwittingly, creating a space where others can feel less isolated in their hard times. Her future is straightforward: to show everyone the best version of herself, not only for herself but also for her daughter. Her journey reminds many of the iconic TOWIE moments she’s been part of. She recently enjoyed a chilled evening with friends at an Essex restaurant. Her outings with TOWIE co-stars have also sparked fan discussions.
