RHOA’s Cynthia Bailey Explains Why She Didn’t Marry Leon Robinson Despite Being ‘The Same People’

Real Housewives of Atlanta fans have watched Cynthia Bailey tie the knot twice on camera, only for both marriages to end in divorce. Before that, she was in a long-term relationship with Leon Robinson, with whom she shares her daughter, Noelle Robinson. However, they were never married, and she just explained the very valid reason for that.

Cynthia Bailey was busy chasing her dreams while in a relationship with Leon Robinson

Cynthia recently appeared as a guest on TS Madison’s Outlaws podcast. Maddie is just like us — she’s been watching Cynthia’s ups and downs in love for years. Throughout that, she’s seen the positive relationship Cynthia and Leon have maintained, and she wanted to know why they never married. Cynthia said no one had ever asked her that question, but she didn’t hesitate to answer.

Cynthia explained, “OK, so, I did not marry Leon because I felt like, at the time, he’s an artist, I’m an artist, he’s a creative, I’m a creative, he’s a Pisces, I’m a Pisces. We are literally the same people in so many ways.”

According to Cynthia, those similarities are what pulled them apart. Leon’s acting career and her life as a model felt so closely related that it caused a disconnect. They were both too busy chasing their own dreams.

She said, “It’s tricky when you’ve got two artists, and everybody’s going for the same thing.”

Ironically, Cynthia has wound up with another artist, an Amsterdam-based DJ named LePrince. However, when looking back on her relationship with Leon, she realized that they couldn’t both pursue their careers while also being good partners.

“I mean, I’ve seen it be done, but I felt like I wouldn’t be able to fully just nurture his talent and the things that he needed from a partner, because I was still figuring out what I was doing… I needed a partner that maybe was not so much doing the things that I was doing,” Cynthia explained.

Ultimately, it doesn’t sound like Cynthia holds any regrets about how she navigated things with Leon. She said they had a “beautiful love story,” but she just didn’t feel like she was “his person.”

Cynthia added, “I think we were put together to have Noelle. Noelle is his one and only. Noelle is my one and only.”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is streaming on Peacock.
