‘The Boys’ Season 5 Will Premiere on Prime Video on April 8, 2026; First Look at Jared Padalecki

The Boys is coming back for one more round of bloody, controversial superhero chaos in 2026, and the new trailer from Prime Video has revealed exactly when we will see the final season come to streaming.

The Boys has been one of the biggest shows on streaming since its debut in 2019, and now the fifth season will finally give everyone the showdown between Billy Butcher and Homelander that has been promised for the last several years. While Season 4 left many divided over its even more prominent political leanings that rankled many viewers, Season 5 will not be holding back anything, and that means more blood, more death, more dubious choices and mindless violence as the story comes to a close in April 2026.

‘The Boys’ is Going Out With a Bang…and a Lot of Death

The Boys Season 5 is bringing back the main cast to wrap up the story, with Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Karl Urban, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Karen Fukuhara, and Chace Crawford, among others, all returning, while former Supernatural alum Jensen Ackles and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be finally be joined by Jared Padalecki, giving fans what they have wanted to see for a long while. Additionally, Misha Collins will also be joining the cast for the final lap.

While series showrunner Eric Kripke has said for some time that all bets will be off in Season 5 and anyone could die in these final episodes. This is something Karl Urban, who plays Billy Butcher, recently doubled down on, with the suggestion that popular characters could meet their maker in the first episode of the season. Recently at Fan Expo, Urban said:

“I think we throw you in the deep end, but in a good way, because the stakes are as high as they can possibly be. I think the real thing to look out for in season 5 on an emotional level, as far as the characters go, and your attachments to characters, there’s going to be some big hits early on in the very first episode.

“That’s probably what is going to make you realize, ‘Oh, this s–t is for real.’ The stakes couldn’t be higher, and anybody’s fair game.”

Now, we know exactly when The Boys will begin its march towards what promises to be a truly apocalyptic finale. While the franchise will continue with Gen V and the new prequel series, Vought Rising, this really is the end of The Boys timeline, and, unlike many shows that rely heavily on cop-outs and tricks, it looks like The Boys will not be holding back on destroying everything that has been created over its previous four seasons – hopefully, in a bloody good way.
