Improvements to the Air Canada App
Air Canada has also announced some upgrades to the Air Canada App, which is available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
During the latest updates, a number of features were added, including:
- The debut of mobile boarding passes that are easier to use at security and during boarding
- Passport details of Aeroplan members are now linked to their profile, which can speed up the check-in process for international flights
- The addition of integrated maps of key Air Canada and Star Alliance airports
- The ability for passengers travelling in Air Canada business class and premium economy to pre-select meals on select international flights departing from Canada
These updates are meant to streamline and enhance the passenger experience at the airport.
Air Canada Returns to Newark (EWR)
Last week, Air Canada also made its return to Newark (EWR) by re-introducing its presence at the airport. While the airline doesn’t operate a separate Maple Leaf Lounge at Newark (EWR), it now operates a dedicated customer service desk within the new United Club in Terminal A.
The new lounge, which opened in July 2023, features 1,400 square metres of space with seating for over 300 guests. Eligible passengers can enjoy entry through self-scan gates.
Inside, there are plenty of options to choose from, including separate buffet and bar areas.
Through the agreement, Air Canada passengers can now enjoy access to the new United Club in Terminal A in a manner consistent with access to other Maple Leaf Lounges.Â
This new presence becomes Air Canada’s latest step in expanding its lounge offering. This year, the airline has opened new lounges at Billy Bishop Toronto City Centre Airport (YTZ) and San Francisco (SFO), and has plans to further expand in the coming years.
