As we edge closer to 2026, our attention will soon turn to booking our next getaway, and it could be the perfect time as Wizz Air has launched flights to a popular Spanish destination.
From March 29, 2026, Wizz Air will operate a new route from London Gatwick to Valencia, with return fares starting from £40 per person. The flights, which will operate daily, aim to provide travellers with an easier and cheaper journey to reach some of Spain’s most beloved destinations.
Valencia is a Spanish city, known to enjoy around 300 days of sunshine every year, with average temperatures of 19C, and 27C during the summer months. It has a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle with a vibrant food scene offering authentic flavours, including those found in its beloved Paella, as it’s famously the birthplace of the seafood and rice dish.
Elsewhere, visitors can bask on their sprawling, golden sand beaches, explore the old town with its historic charm, and admire futuristic architecture, including that of the City of Arts and Sciences. Quieter than Spanish cities such as Madrid or Barcelona, Valencia, on Spain’s southeastern coast, has an allure that makes it the ideal getaway for any time of the year.
Tickets are available to purchase for the new Valencia route, which extends the airline’s connections between the UK and Spain, marking the sixth Spanish journey that Wizz Air launched for 2026. The budget airline had already announced its additional connections between London Luton and Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Seville.
Yvonne Moynihan, Managing Director at Wizz Air UK, said: “With Brits already thinking about how to escape the cold British winter, we’re offering yet another destination that offers sunshine and mild temperatures throughout the year. This new route is another exciting addition to our growing connections between the UK and Spain.
“As London’s low-cost airline, we’re committed to giving customers affordable and accessible ways to explore new cultures and reach their favourite holiday destinations all year round.”
The Hungarian budget airline has also announced its new routes from London Luton Airport to four Greek islands: Chania, Mykonos, Rhodes, and Zakynthos. In addition to flights to Bordeaux in France and Dortmund in Germany.
On the Luton new routes, Yvonne Moynihan, stated: “With holidaymakers already dreaming of their 2026 getaways, we’ve got an early Christmas gift for our customers: six brand-new routes from our London Luton base.
“These exciting additions will whisk travellers away to some of Europe’s most-loved destinations, including Greece’s stunning beaches.
“As London’s low-cost airline, we’re all about making those dream holidays affordable and accessible. And with our 14th aircraft joining the fleet at London Luton Airport, we’re giving UK customers even more flexibility and choice, because nothing says ‘Merry Christmas’ like more holidays to look forward to.”
