Vin Diesel Teases Cristiano Ronaldo Joining ‘Fast 11’

Vin Diesel has taken to social media to tease the addition of a football icon to the cast of Fast 11, which may or may not be now called Fast Forever. The car-centric action Fast & Furious series has been rounding out the cast of the sequel, adding numerous notable characters from past entries, and even teasing the return of Dwayne Johnson. Now, it looks as though Fast 11 will include Cristiano Ronaldo.

Diesel posted a photo with Ronaldo on his Instagram, letting fans know that the internationally renowned footballer will be joining Fast & Furious 11. Ronaldo is one of the most famous players to ever grace the soccer pitch, with the Fast & Furious franchise thriving in global markets, making his addition a notable boost for the forthcoming sequel. While the sports icon’s role is currently unknown, Diesel noted that a role was written specifically for him, adding to his post:

Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him…

Ronaldo’s part could be minor, much like Pete Davidson’s role in Fast X, which was tantamount to a cameo. Still, the footballer could play a larger role, serving as a long-lost member of Dom’s crew who becomes essential to their new task. While his official part will likely remain under wraps until Fast 11 gets further into development and production, Ronaldo’s addition marks another exciting name to help flesh out the cast.

‘Fast and Furious 11’ Is Building an Impressive Cast

Aside from Ronaldo joining Diesel and Johnson in Fast & Furious 11, the action sequel has rounded out the usual robust cast. Jordana Brewster, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Sung Kang, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Michelle Rodriguez are all expected to return in what is being touted as the franchise finale. Jason Momoa was expected to reprise his role as the villainous Dante Reyes, but he doesn’t seem to know.

Some fans have been concerned about Diesel’s comments regarding Paul Walker, with his character, Brian O’Connor, potentially having a role. Brian has not been part of the franchise since Walker’s death, while Furious 7 was in production, which drastically altered that film. With the recent use of digital representations of deceased actors, like Ian Holm in Alien: Resurrection, some fans are worried about tarnishing Walker’s legacy with the potentially foolhardy addition.

The plot of the next Fast & Furious film is currently unknown, but it is expected to pick up where Fast X‘s finale left off, with many characters in questionable peril, if not outright dead. However, Diesel has been hyping the film’s return to its Los Angeles roots. The film formerly known as Fast X: Part 2 is currently eyeing an April 2027 release, with production expected to begin next year. Further details will be forthcoming as the sequel progresses.
