Clever sleep hack will make you fall asleep in minutes – it’s so easy

A woman has detailed the “magic” sleep technique she swears by as it helps people drift off within minutes. Battling insomnia or struggling to nod off is an incredibly frustrating and draining ordeal that can have a profound effect on someone’s everyday existence.

The NHS says a few restless nights typically aren’t cause for concern, “but it can become an issue if a lack of sleep starts to affect your daily life”. The health service also cautions that enduring sleep difficulties over an extended period can “affect our relationships and social life, and leave us feeling tired all the time, eating more and not able to do daily tasks”.

Countless people turn to social media for guidance and suggestions, and when one woman posted the strategies she’s discovered to aid her slumber, it struck a chord with millions on TikTok.

In the clip, which has amassed more than 8.1 million views to date, content creator Olivia Hedlund demonstrated a technique she’s adopted from bestselling author, researcher, lecturer, and corporate consultant Dr Joe Dispenza.

Dr Dispenza is celebrated for his pineal gland meditation, which incorporates particular methods designed to encourage relaxation and enhance sleep quality.

Lying in bed while speaking directly to the camera, Olivia added text which reads “sleep hack that works like magic” to her footage and explained: “If you’re somebody who cannot fall asleep quickly, I have a hack that is going to change your life. I told two of my friends about it, they tried it and said they fell asleep literally instantly.

“It’s a certain breathing technique that I learned from Joe Dispenza and then I tried it before I went to bed and it works so well. It’s basically taking five deep breaths but these breaths are very specifically done.”

Olivia recommended viewers search for Dispenza’s pineal gland meditation online before elaborating: “You basically take a super slow inhale through your nose and you start clenching your body.

“You flex your abs and your stomach all the way up to your chest and you literally feel the breath go up your spine until I imagine it in the middle of my head.

“Then you hold it there for as long as you can and then you let it go, and you do that five times… do that five times, you’ll fall asleep immediately.”

Viewers responded enthusiastically in the comments. One follower revealed: “I tried it and thought I was doing it wrong then I did it multiple times it helps!!!”

Another expressed optimism: “I’ve been trying to fall asleep for the past 2hrs, this better work,” while a third confirmed: “This worked for me actually.”

Someone shared: “Pineal gland meditation is my FAVE,” while another added: “It works. I didn’t sleep for 20 years. Then I watched Dr Joe Dispenza for about three weeks four or five years ago and now I sleep easily every night.”
