Survival System Is An Entirely New Way To Play

There’s already so much to see and do in Cyberpunk 2077, but if you insist on staying in Night City as long as possible and have somehow exhausted most of the quests, secrets, and hidden features, there are other things you can do.

If you’re after a new challenge, for instance, there’s one mod that adds an incredibly detailed survival system to Cyberpunk 2077, adding a whole new level of immersion.

Cyberpunk 2077: Survival System Is Incredible

You can download it now

Created by NexusMods user DiCrash, ‘Survival System’ is a huge fan-made gameplay expansion that adds Energy, Satiation, and Hydration systems for the player to manage. Not a difficult thing to do in a city filled with millions of people, you might think. Which is probably why most survival RPGs are set in the middle of nowhere.

Yet, it works! Your energy bar will deplete in six in-game days, and if you don’t manage it properly, you’ll start to see your maximum health, stamina, and regeneration take a hit.

If you don’t look after your satiation levels, you’ll find you can’t jump as high and carry as much. And neglect hydration at the risk of your movement speeds.

You can keep all of these different systems topped up by eating, sleeping, and drinking. It sounds like an incredibly tedious pain in the butt to me, but I know there are sickos out there who love this kind of stuff. Sickos, I salute your patience.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Sequel Is Well Underway

It’s an exciting time to be a fan

If you’re wondering when the next official trip to Night City is, well… it’s still miles away. The good news is that Cyberpunk 2077‘s sequel is being worked on as we speak, although The Witcher 4 is the current priority over at CD Projekt RED.

Cyberpunk 2 is one of five CD Projekt Red games in development, right now. At the end of July 2025, 116 people were working on Cyberpunk 2. By the end of October 2025 – three months later – that number had increased to 135 developers. Basically, we’re full steam ahead on the sequel.

If you just can’t wait, though, there are always Cyberpunk 2077 mods like the one above to keep you occupied until that day in the far, far future when the official sequel releases. Probably for PlayStation 6 and Xbox whatever they call it in the end.
