How Many Plane Crashes So Far in 2025? See Number – Hollywood Life

In light of recent aviation issues and catastrophic plane crashes across the United States, travelers are concerned about flying commercial and non-commercial aircrafts. In just one week toward the end of January 2025, a Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines flight collided near Washington D.C.; days later, a medical jet transporting a child patient crashed in Northeast Philadelphia. As the public grapples with the tragic news, many are wondering how many plane crashes happen per year in America and whether or not it’s even safe to fly anymore.

Below, read what the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and multiple outlets have reported pertaining to plane crashes and aviation issues.

How Many Plane Crashes Are There Per Year?

The number of plane crashes, accidents, and other issues varies per year. On average though, there have been about 250 near-midair collisions reported by any piloted aircraft over the last 20 years, CBS News reported. Over the past five years, there were around 385 of these crashes every year, which equates to more than one incident per day, according to the outlet.

As for actual plane crashes, there has reportedly been a decline in commercial and non-commercial aviation crashes around the U.S.

Aviation attorney and former U.S. Air Force navigator Jim Brauchle told Newsweek in January 2025 that “there is probably, maybe not every day, but probably on average, every other day, a plane crash somewhere in the United States.” He added those crashes involved non-commercial aircraft “almost 99 percent of the time.”

How Many Plane Crashes Have There Been in 2025?

According to the “Statements on Aviation Accidents and Incidents” by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), there have been around 15 plane crashes or ground minor collisions so far in the U.S. in 2025 involving either commercial jets or smaller planes. Some were catastrophic crashes after falling, while others struck other objects either on the ground or in the air.

On February 10, Mötley Crüe vocalist Vince Neil‘s private plane collided with another aircraft. He was not on board, but the pilot of the plane was killed.

Did Trump Fire Air Traffic Controllers?

According to the Associated Press, air traffic control employees were initially offered buyouts from the president when he enacted changes to the federal workforce in January 2025. Air traffic controllers’ union reportedly recommended its members not to accept the buyout. Moreover, the Office for Personnel Management (OPM), claimed that controllers were not eligible for the widespread resignation plan nor were they subject to the potential hiring freeze across the federal workforce, per the AP.

Injuries in Philadelphia Crash: How Many People Were Affected?

So far, the Medevac jet that plummeted from the sky and exploded in a fiery crash in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday, January 31, has claimed at least seven lives and injured 19 others.

The Learjet 55 crash not only injured people on the ground but also set homes and cars ablaze, with debris scattered widely from the massive explosion.

Injuries in DC Collision: How Many People Were Killed?

All 67 people aboard the American Airlines regional jet and the US Army Black Hawk helicopter that collided midair near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday, January 29 were presumed dead.

Recovery teams returned to the icy waters of the Potomac River on Friday, continuing their search for victims and additional evidence related to the deadliest U.S. air crash in more than two decades.

Injuries in Seattle Crash: Were There Any Injuries Reported?

On February 5, 2025, a Japan Airlines plane backed into the tail of a Delta Airlines aircraft while taxiing at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. According to multiple reports, officials have confirmed no injuries. Although the incident occurred at the airport, it caused a temporary disruption to flights, according to the FAA’s website. Japan Airlines later issued a statement to USA Today, saying, “We sincerely apologize to all involved for any inconvenience. The detailed cause and circumstances are currently under investigation.”

Is HSBC the greatest bargain on the FTSE 100?

0

A number of FTSE 100 shares look potentially cheap to me.

Take HSBC (LSE: HSBA) as an example. It has soared 207% from a 2020 low. But it still trades on a price-to-earnings ratio of just 9 – and offers a 5.5% dividend yield to boot.

Might it be the biggest bargain on the blue-chip index right now?

The bank has been reshaping itself in recent years, exiting certain markets. It continues to be a sizeable force in key markets, notably Hong Kong and the UK.

Having already sold off various businesses, HSBC continues to reshape itself around a couple of centres of gravity, in Asia and the UK. That adds geopolitical risk.

On the plus side, it offers the benefit of diversification and allows the experienced, longstanding bank to benefit from economic growth opportunities in one region even if the other is performing less strongly.

HSBC is not the most exciting business, but as an investor I like its strong brand, proven business model, large customer base and significant ongoing cash generation potential. That last point can help support the dividend.

A 5.5% yield is already well above the FTSE 100 average, but some HSBC shareholders are doing better. After all, those who bought back at the 2020 low I mentioned would now be earning a dividend yield close to 17%.

The share price could be good value, but carries risks

While that P/E ratio may look low, it is pretty much par for the course among London-listed banks. It is lower than the 11 of Barclays but in line with both Lloyds and Natwest.

That points to a concern I think some investors (including myself) have about the sector. While earnings have been strong in the past several years, a weak and uncertain global economy could mean higher loan defaults in coming years.

If that happens, I would expect banks including HSBC to take a hit to their profits.

If the global economy steps up a gear then banks may come to look undervalued at today’s prices. That could mean a higher share price for HSBC several years from now.

However, the risk environment does not make me feel comfortable investing in banks at the moment.

I doubt this is the FTSE 100’s  best bargain share

So, I will not be investing in HSBC.

Its yield is attractive, but it is well below that currently offered by other FTSE 100 shares I own such as M&G and Legal & General.

As for valuation, it looks fairly cheap but not more so than some rivals. As to whether that appearance of cheapness is in fact correct, time will tell.

If banks like HSBC encounter choppier waters, their current valuations may not be cheap despite trading on a single digit P/E ratio. I prefer more margin of safety.

Tourists to Greece warned wearing ‘wrong shoes’ could get you fined | Europe | Travel

0

Brits heading on holiday to Greece have been warned that they could get fined for wearing the wrong type of shoes.

With the first known settlements in Greece dating back to the Stone Ages, the nation is keen to protect its history. But officials have raised concerns about the impact a certain type of footwear could have on the historic structures.

It has led to high heels being banned in some parts of the European nation. Since 2009, visitors to iconic Athens landmarks such as the Acropolis and the Epidaurus Theatre have been expected to leave their heels at home.

Anyone flouting the rules could be arrested and slapped with a 900 Euro fine. It is worth noting however that the ban only applies to Athens’ ancient monuments.

In a video on his Wolter’s World YouTube channel, travel expert Mark Wolters warned: “There are no high-heeled shoes at the Acropolis.

Actually, there are no high-heeled shoes at most of the historic sites in Greece because the high-heeled shoes can chip the marble therefore they don’t want you wearing them. So sadly, there are no high-heeled shoes in Athens.”

Explaining the rule in 2009, Eleni Korka, Director of Greek Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities, told MailOnline: “Female visitors must wear shoes that do not wound the monuments. These monuments have a skin that suffers and people must realise that.”

As well as anyone wearing heels, drunk people were barred from the historic sites in 2009. Food, drink and on-site performances were also barred as part of the conversation efforts.

Mark highlights the high heels ban law as one of “weirder” laws that can land tourists in hot water when they go away. He also warns travellers heading to Florence that they could get in trouble for eating gelato outside in certain streets.

Another unusual Italian law, Mark says, is the ban on feeding the pigeons in Venice’s iconic St Mark’s Square. He added: “Back in the day, you would go there and people would literally sell feed so you could have the pigeons cover you. Not anymore, if you feed the pigeons, you’re going to get a little fine.”

The law to stop visitors in Venice feeding pigeons was introduced in 2008. The fine can range from anywhere between €700 (£580) and €70 (£58).

Mark says Italy also has laws to protect historic monuments, pointing out that jumping in the Trevi Fountain in Rome is illegal. People can be fined up to  €500 (£417) for taking a plunge in the historic fountain.

Mark explained: “If you’re in Rome and you’re going to hop in Trevi Fountain for a picture, you better believe you’re going to get a fine for that. And you may be thinking ‘I was hot, I was trying to cool off’ but that doesn’t matter.”

‘Fight or Flight’ Trailer Teases Josh Hartnett’s Aerial Action Thriller

0

Oppenheimer and Trap star Josh Hartnett

is a bleach blonde John Wick in the latest footage from this month’s aerial action thriller, Fight or Flight. This is far from your average in-flight entertainment, as Hartnett finds himself going up against, well, everyone on a plane full of killers. Fortunately, Hartnett’s character, Lucas Reyes, is a killer himself. Unfortunately, he’s been tasked with protecting the one person all the other killers want dead. You can check out the new trailer for Fight or Flight below.

Fight or Flight is directed by James Madigan (Runaways) and finds Hartnett facing off against several familiar faces in what looks like a twist on Brad Pitt’s 2022 action outing Bullet Train. The cast includes Charithra Chandran (Bridgerton) as the mysterious target that Hartnett’s assassin is tasked with protecting, with Julian Kostov (Shadow and Bone), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) and Marko Zaror (John Wick: Chapter 4) as the various killers assigned with putting some added pressure on Hartnett’s intrepid mercenary. Alongside the new trailer, you can check out the official synopsis for Fight or Flight below.

In this action/ thriller, a mercenary takes on the job of tracking down a target on a plane but must protect her when they’re surrounded by people trying to kill both of them.

Josh Hartnett Excels as an Action Movie Lead

Several early reactions to Fight or Flight have since landed, and it certainly sounds like the movie has all the necessary ingredients for a no-nonsense action classic. One such glowing review comes courtesy of X/Twitter user @DerekBrocks, who took to the social media platform to heap praise on both Josh Hartnett’s performance and the fight sequences on display within this claustrophobic setting. “Fight or Flight (2025) what a pleasant surprise this early in the year. Another great Josh Hartnett performance who clocks in a goofy, yet brutal turn as a gun-for-hire on a plane full of ’em with exciting fight choreography by Brahim Chab and Alain Moussi,” they declared.

One of Hartnett’s most polarizing films is bringing vampires to Peacock this February.

Echoing these sentimnets, IMDb user marotastic is glad that someone finally made the “smart decision with casting Josh in an action/comedy movie (again),” and suggests you simply let the action movie excitement wash over you. Don’t overthink it, just let those fists fly. “Finally someone who made a smart decision with casting Josh in an action/comedy movie (again). Not sure if people in charge where sleeping or simply missed ‘lucky number sleven’ BUT this is Hartnett Deluxe! Extremely funny, violent and charming! As I didn’t had this movie on the radar at all, I was even more excited while watching. Don’t overthink the storyline, just let it happen!” their reaction reads.

Fight or Flight is all set to premiere on Sky Cinema on February 28 in the United Kingdom. While the action thriller has yet to be given a release date in the United States, the movie has now been picked up for distribution by Oscilloscope Laboratories, with rumors claiming it could be released in May.

Kevin Costner’s Son’s Role In Horizon: Chapter 1 Explained

0

Kevin Costner’s passion project Horizon: An American Saga hits home for him in a number of ways, not least of which is the fact that his son, Hayes Costner, has a minor role in Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1. The Academy Award winner famously invested millions of his own dollars to make the epic Western movie series a reality, and Horizon‘s carefully selected cast of characters boasts dozens of recognizable faces. Costner’s youngest son, Hayes, on the other hand, acted for the first time on the set of Horizon.

Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 is now streaming, and is the first of what was originally intended to be four movies that chronicle the life and times of settlers and Indigenous people in the American West in the time before, during, and after the Civil War. The struggle for wealth, health, and prosperity created decades of conflict between all of those involved, and inevitably resulted in death and suffering. Hayes Costner’s brief appearance in Horizon: Chapter 1 was at the center of the most explosive and violent scene in the entire movie.

Hayes Costner Plays Nathaniel Kittredge In Horizon

Nathaniel Is The Son Of Sienna Miller’s Character

Hayes Costner makes his acting debut as Nathaniel Kittredge, the son of homesteaders and Horizon residents Frances (Sienna Miller) and James Kittredge. Nathaniel, or “Nat” as he’s referred to, is roughly 15 years old, and while his screen time is limited, he is shown to be brave in facing down an older boy teasing him and his friends. He does still have the tendencies of the average 15-year-old boy, however, as he refuses to dance with his mother and fights with his sister.

Hayes Costner’s Character Dies Offscreen In Horizon

He Is Killed While Defending His Home And Family

Nathaniel’s courage is once again on display when his family’s home, like the rest of Horizon, is attacked by raiding Apache warriors. The boy springs into action to help his father shore up the house and dutifully fights back despite gunfire bursting through the walls and doors. Even when his father seems to lose hope and despair, Nathaniel maintains his composure and continues to defend his home and family.

At 15 years old, Hayes Costner is the second-youngest of Kevin Costner’s seven children, who range in age from 14 to 40.

Nathaniel Kittredge’s bravery, unfortunately, ended up being his downfall. He was sent by his father to take his mother and sister down into the escape tunnels below their home, but when the time came to get in himself, he opted instead to secure them inside and continue to fight alongside his father. In a meta moment that’s quite appropriate for a character played by the son of Kevin Costner, Nathaniel’s last words to his mother are “It’s alright…I’m gonna be with Dad.” Nathaniel and James are killed off-screen, either by the Apache or the fire that burns down their home.

What Kevin Costner Said About Casting His Son In Horizon

Costner Has Never Pushed Any Of His Children Into Acting

In an interview with Today, Costner went into detail about his experience working with his son on a movie set. While he obviously enjoyed the experience, Costner noted that he never pushed his son into acting. The veteran director implied that it’s no coincidence that Nathaniel’s character is brave and loyal; speaking coyly about the character, he said, “…it’s what you want in a son.

He also briefly addressed the potential nepotism in the casting, which is something that has certainly been a hot-button issue in American cinema of late. Costner admitted that he knew other young actors may have wanted the part, but he cast his son knowing how minor the ole would end up being.

I realize there (are) so many young actors out there that would just kill to be in this movie. I don’t want to take those parts away from them just because I can place my own children in… But since it was a smaller part, I selfishly wanted him with me. For the two weeks that he was with me, we would drive to the set every day and he would whisper. He didn’t have a lot of experience, but he’s really beautiful in the movie.

Costner did not shy away from his motives behind the casting either, which is fair given how heavily he’s invested his own effort and resources into it.

Kevin Costner’s Horizon Character Is Named After His Son

Costner Stars As Hayes Ellison In Addition To Writing And Directing

Costner’s own character in Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 is actually named after the same son he cast in the movie. Costner plays a horse trader named Hayes Ellison, who steps into the classic Western gunslinger role for Chapter 1 despite not actually being any kind of law enforcement agent or a criminal. One of the biggest complaints about Horizon: Chapter 1 was actually that Costner’s Hayes Ellison was not in the film enough.

Kevin Costner may struggle to finance the final chapters of Horizon: An American Saga after Horizon Chapter 1 failed at the box office, but he didn’t miss the opportunity to include his son in the franchise. By not only casting him in a minor role but naming one of the chief characters after him, Costner ensured that his son Hayes would have a signature in what was intended to be the storied actor/director’s magnum opus.

Will Hayes Costner Return & What’s Known About The Next Horizon Chapters

Kevin Costner Is Still Moving Ahead With His Saga

With Nathaniel Kitteridge’s death in Horizon: Part 1, there’s still the possibility of Hayes Costner returning to the story in a flashback. Nathaniel’s surviving family members, Frances and Elizabeth Kittredge, are both still key members of the story with the first installment even showing that Frances was looking to move on with her life by embarking on a romance with First Lt. Trent Gephardt (Sam Worthington). Perhaps memories of the family life she had before will creep back into her memory.

Despite the opportunity, Nathaniel doesn’t return in Horizon: Part 2, and Hayes Costern is not part of the cast. With Kevin Costner originally announcing four planned movies in the Horizon saga, there is still a chance to see Nathaniel return in some form. Of course, with the first installment underperforming at the box office, it remains in question if the four-movie plan will be completed. The third movie is in production and had originally aimed to complete filming in Spring 2025. In September 2024, Costner acknowledged the long road ahead for the other movies but seemed determined (via Deadline):

“I don’t know how I’m gonna make 3 right now, but I’m gonna make it.”

Plane owned by Mötley Crüe singer involved in fatal collision

0

One person was killed and four injured after a private jet owned by Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil collided with another private plane when landing at an Arizona airport Monday afternoon, authorities said.

At 2:29 p.m., a Learjet aircraft flying in from Austin, Texas, veered off the runway while attempting to land at Scottsdale Airport and collided with a parked Gulfstream 200 aircraft, said Kelli Kuester, aviation planning and outreach coordinator for the airport at a news conference. It appears that the Learjet’s left main gear failed upon landing, causing the plane to crash, she said.

Neil owns the Learjet Model 35A but was not on the plane at the time of the crash, according to a statement by his representative, Worrick Robinson. Two pilots and two passengers were on board, Robinson said.

“Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today,” Robinson said.

One person was dead at the scene and still needed to be extricated from the plane at 6 p.m. local time, said Scottsdale Fire Capt. Dave Folio. Two people were immediately taken to trauma centers, one person was later taken to a hospital in stable condition, and one person refused treatment, he said.

The runway where the accident took place was temporarily closed following the crash and reopened around 8:30 p.m. local time, according to the airport. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

“On behalf of the city of Scottsdale, we offer our deepest condolences to those involved in the accident and for those who have been taken to our trauma center for treatment,” said Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky in a statement. “We will keep all affected by this tragedy in our prayers.”

Monday’s crash was the latest in a spate of lethal aviation incidents across America.

On. Jan. 29, 67 people were killed when a commercial jetliner and Army helicopter collided midair near Washington, D.C. Two days later, a medical transportation plane crashed in Philadelphia, killing six people on board and a bystander on the ground. Last week, 10 people died in the crash of a small commuter plane in western Alaska.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Amy Poehler, June Squibb and Bowen Yang are set to present at the 2025 Oscars on Sunday, March 2, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.

Berry, Goldberg and Cruz are past Oscar winners. In 2001, for her role in Monster’s Ball, Berry became the first Black actress to win best actress. She is still the only Black actress to achieve that feat, though Cynthia Erivo, nominated this year for Wicked, could join her. In 1991, for her role in Ghost, Goldberg became only the second Black actress – and the first in 51 years – to win best supporting actress. Zoe Saldaña, nominated this year for Emilia Pérez, could become the 11th Black actress (she is Black and Afro-Latina) to win in that category.

Cruz won best supporting actress in 2009 for Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Poehler and Yang both rose to fame on Saturday Night Live, which is enjoying an especially high profile as it celebrates its 50th season. Poehler co-hosted the Golden Globe Awards four times with fellow SNL vet Tina Fey.

Squibb, a best supporting actress nominee in 2014 for Nebraska, is red-hot at age 95, with roles in three 2024 films: Thelma (for which she also served as executive producer), Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead and the animated Inside Out 2.

Last year’s Oscar winners in the four acting categories – Cillian Murphy, Emma Stone, Robert Downey Jr. and Da’Vine Joy Randolph – were announced as presenters last week.

Hosted by Conan O’Brien, the 97th Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will air live on ABC and stream live on Hulu. The official live red-carpet show will air at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.

Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan are executive producers of the 2025 Oscars. Kapoor is also showrunner. He was also one of three executive producers for the Grammy Awards on Feb. 2, along with Ben Winston and Jesse Collins.

Mineral ‘slashes Alzheimer’s risk’ but millions ‘don’t get enough’

0

A nutritionist has sounded the alarm after research revealed that millions of Brits are not getting enough of a crucial mineral that aids in disease prevention and is beneficial for the nervous system, bones, teeth, and muscles. Dr Pamela Mason stated that it’s easily obtained through food and can also be taken as a supplement.

Dr Mason, an advisor to ADACT Medical – an authority in analysis, testing, compliance, regulatory and latest research across various health-related fields including vitamin, mineral and botanical supplements – said: “The mineral magnesium is needed for the formation of more than 300 enzymes in the body, which release energy from food. Magnesium is also vital for the nervous system, muscle movement, healthy bones and teeth, electrolyte balance and protein synthesis.

“So, it’s extremely worrying to see the results of the UK National Diet and Nutrition Survey which shows that many people have very low intakes of magnesium. A total of 40% of 11 to 18 year olds, 12% of 19 to 64 year olds and 13% of over-65s have magnesium intakes below the Lower Reference Nutrient Intake (LRNI). The LRNI is the amount of a nutrient that is enough for only a small number of people in a group who have low requirements. Most people need more than this amount.”

For women across the age ranges above, the figures were 47%, 11% and 11% respectively.

Dr Mason has highlighted the importance of magnesium for overall health, citing a South Australian study that links it to reduced DNA damage risk. “Magnesium is already so vital for good health, but a recent study from South Australia has shown that it could even help to reduce the risk of DNA (genetic) damage,” she explained.

The University of South Australia’s research found a correlation between low magnesium levels and high homocysteine, an amino acid harmful to genes. Dr Mason said: “The researchers say that this amino acid damages the body’s genes, making people more susceptible to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, gastrointestinal diseases, a range of cancers and diabetes. This means there is now even more reason to ensure that everyone is getting enough magnesium into their body.”

How to get more magnesium

On how much magnesium is needed and the best sources, Dr Mason advised: “The NHS says that men aged 19 to 64 need 300 mg of magnesium per day whilst women aged 19 to 64 need 270 mg of magnesium per day. There is an abundance of foods that contain magnesium, which can help to hit these daily targets. Magnesium-rich foods include leafy green vegetables such as spinach and kale, wholegrains, beans, beef, chicken, nuts, seeds and even high cocoa dark chocolate.”

She also mentioned that while most people can get sufficient magnesium through diet, some may need supplements: “Most people should be able to get enough magnesium from food, but restricted or unbalanced diets may require supplementation to bridge the gap. Underlying health conditions or medications may also mean magnesium absorption is poor, and again a supplement such as a multivitamin and multimineral containing magnesium could help here.”

She reportedly wore an excessively ripped top that could barely hold over a white bikini top and paired it with Nike baggy pants for her game-night outfit. She further layered her bottomwear with a Nike T-shirt styled as a skirt before adding diamond jewelry. The South African singer’s second attire in the post was a white satin slip dress in the teeniest tiny length.

David Letterman Makes Shock Return to ‘The Tonight Show’ & Reunites With Paul Shaffer

0

It was a night of surprise returns on late-night Monday (February 10), as not only did John Oliver make a surprise appearance on The Daily Show, but talk show legend David Letterman returned to The Tonight Show.

Letterman made his shocking appearance during host Jimmy Fallon‘s opening monologue, leaving viewers at home and those in the studio audience completely gobsmacked.

Fallon was riffing with Paul Shaffer and the World’s Most Dangerous Band, Letterman’s longtime sidekick and band from his time hosting CBS’ Late Show from 1982 to 2015 — Shaffer and co were filling in for Fallon’s regular house band, The Roots, who are rehearsing for the upcoming Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary concert.

During the monologue, the band started playing Letterman’s old theme song as a confused-looking Letterman emerged from behind the curtain. He was met with rapturous applause as he took his position on stage beside Fallon.

“Is this the 23rd hour of The Today Show?” he quipped before Fallon told him he was on The Tonight Show.

“Jimmy!” he exclaimed before turning to Schaffer. “Paul? What are you doing here?”

“You know, it’s a funny story,” Shaffer replied. “Have you ever taken too much Ambien, and then you wake up somewhere with no clue how the hell you got there?”

“Wow, you’ve been reading my diary,” Letterman retorted.

Fallon then asked Letterman if he wanted to tell some jokes, and a staff member with cue cards shuffled onto the stage. Letterman looked through the cards before deciding none of the jokes were good enough. “I’m good, thanks,” he said, shooing the card holder away.

When Fallon asked what the legendary host was doing now he’s retired, he quipped, “TikTok… I made an enormous deal with the Chinese government.”

Fallon suggested they should make some TikTok videos together, including the “handshake challenge.” Letterman didn’t look impressed, though, and had another viral video in mind, telling Fallon, “What I really want to do is hit you in the face with a tortilla.”

Letterman proceeded to slap Fallon across the face with tortillas, even letting Shaffer get in on the action. Fallon also got in a shot of his own, with the Emmy-winning host responding, “I think you cracked a crown.”

As he left, Letterman could be heard backstage yelling, “I’ll see you in a court!”

Letterman last appeared on The Tonight Show in 1992, the year Johnny Carson retired as host. At the time, many fans, including Carson himself, believed that Letterman would become the new host of The Tonight Show. NBC instead gave the job to Jay Leno, and Letterman left the network to host his own late-night show on CBS.
