Willow Sage Hart is Pink‘s daughter, and she has blossomed into a talented and amazing teen. The pop star shares Pink with husband Carey Hart, and Willow inherited her mom’s impressive vocal skills! Previously, she teamed up with Pink to release an uplifting and original song, “Cover Me In Sunshine.” The song goes to show that Willow is following in the footsteps of her Grammy-winning mom.
“We thought we’d put it out around Valentine’s Day as a big old hug and kiss to all y’all,” Pink explained.
Pink’s daughter has amazed fans with her singing voice.
At the time when she and Pink released that single, Willow was just 9 years old. Now, she’s 14 and in middle school!
Willow performed on ‘The Disney Holiday Singalong’
Willow also showed off her singing skills during ABC’S airing of The Disney Holiday Singalongin Nov. 2020. At the time, not many fans had been aware of Willow’s special talent, so viewers were stunned when the nine-year-old teamed up with her mom to sing Nat King Cole‘s “The Christmas Song.”
However, that was not the first time Willow did a duet with her mom. She made her recording debut on “A Million Dreams (Reprise)” from The Greatest Showman: Reimagined in 2018 (you can listen above).
Willo is also known for her punk rock hair
While Willow has picked up her mom’s musical skills, the young singing sensation got her punk rock flair from both her mom AND dad (he’s a famous BMX star, in case you didn’t know). Willow got a shaved mohawk hair makeover in Sept. 2019, and is currently sporting a rock and roll-approved pixie cut.
Willow is the older sister of Pink and Carey’s four-year-old son, Jameson Moon Hart. He too made his singing debut on TikTok, which led many fans to tease that Willow’s adorable brother has a future in “metal” rock. While Jameson is healthy and rocking now, Pink revealed that he was “really sick” amid a scary battle with COVID-19 in April of 2020. The “So What” singer fell ill with the virus too, which got so bad, she had to go on “nebulizers for the first time in 30 years” (Pink suffers from asthma). Fortunately, Willow and her dad, Carey, managed to stay healthy.
There is a special meaning behind Willow’s name
Pink may be a Hollywood superstar, but actually took inspiration from nature for her firstborn’s name. “The willow is my favorite tree. I grew up near one. It’s the most flexible tree in nature and nothing can break it — no wind, no elements. It can bend and withstand anything. I love that sentiment. I want that for her,” Pink told Peoplein Dec. 2020.
“Sage is cleansing and sacred,” Pink continued. “And it sounded great together. It doesn’t hurt that her last name is Hart — flexible cleansed heart.”
Italy is one of the most visited countries in the world, boasting a range of incredible destinations for travellers to enjoy wholesome and one-of-a-kind holiday experiences. Every year, tens of millions of people travel to the European country, with many of them visiting popular cities such as Rome and Milan or regions like the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany.
However, these well-known holiday spots often get overcrowded, making it challenging for holidaymakers to really make the most out of their getaway. That being said, Italy does have numerous hidden gems that make great alternatives to its more crowded spots, including one in particular that is full of both charm and beauty.
Puglia, located in southern Italy, is known for its whitewashed hillside towns, ancient farmland, and vast Mediterranean coastline. The hidden gem is full of picturesque towns that make you feel like you’re in a dream.
The region is also known for being the perfect destination for an authentic Italian experience, boasting a slower pace of life, a rich culinary heritage, and distinctive architecture.
Additionally, Puglia offers diverse scenery and landscapes from rugged coastlines to rolling hills, making it an excellent destination for road trippers.
According to the blog Pack Your Lens, “while the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany have their charm, a Puglia road trip offers something refreshingly different: fewer crowds, more authenticity, and a sense of calm you didn’t know you needed”.
For those who like a classic beach holiday, Puglia has plenty to choose from, including Pescoluse, a beach in Salento, Puglia, that is often likened to the Maldives.
One person, who visited in August, said: “This beach is considered the ‘Maldives of Salento’. The landscape is beautiful, with turquoise blue water and white sand. The water temperature is great and has a blue flag. It has restaurants, bars and it’s watched. Access is easy, with nearby parking. I recommend!”
Another added that it “fully reflects the name ‘Maldives of Salento'”.
Brits can travel to Puglia directly by flying to the region’s capital, Bari. The journey typically takes just under three hours.
Stephen King is on his soapbox again to criticize superhero movies to all who will listen, and this time, he kind of makes a valid point. King, of course, is the author of more than 50 novels of the strange and unusual, the bulk of which have been turned into successful, and not-so-successful, films. His latest adaptation, The Long Walk, is set to hit theaters on Sept. 12, 2025, and thus far it’s been receiving high marks from critics, who praise it for being “brutal and unforgiving in its execution.”
Speaking of brutal and unforgiving, it’s that subject that King recently addressed to The Times UK, telling the outlet that he had one condition for director Francis Lawrence before he adapted The Long Walk: He wanted to make sure the movie showed teenagers getting shot. “I said, if you’re not going to show it, don’t bother. And so they made a pretty brutal movie,” he commented. It’s kind of a surprising condition when you consider that King is a staunch believer in gun control, and has refused to ever allow one of his most controversial novels, Rage – about a teenager who takes his classmates hostage – to ever be made into a movie. To hear that he’s all for kids getting shot on screen in The Long Walk is almost contradictory, but, honestly, how else would you have made the movie and still have it be as impactful as it is?
King pointed to superhero films as an example of pictures that water down their violence, saying that’s not what he wanted The Long Walk to become. “If you look at these superhero movies, you’ll see some supervillain who’s destroying whole city blocks, but you never see any blood,” he told The Times, adding:
The original Avengers line-up in the MCU.Walt Disney Studios
By referencing pornography, we take King to mean that many superhero movies push things to the brink, without actually crossing the line to show the effects of getting punched in the face by a being with superhuman strength. In the real world, that would turn anybody’s face into something resembling ground beef. Instead, they’re more like those soft core movies with Shannon Tweed in them that we used to watch on Cinemax when we were kids. Sure, there were boobies, but we had to imagine everything else.
Therein lies the rub: Superhero movies don’t take place in the “real world.” Yes, they tend to depict real locations like New York, California, etc., but think of it as an alternate universe where blood doesn’t flow as freely, and you never have to concern yourself with who foots the bill for rebuilding the Empire State Building. It’s a fantasy. We might get R-rated movies like Deadpool and The Suicide Squad every so often, but even in those the gore is so over-the-top that it’s almost impossible for anyone to consider it real.
King does have a valid point, of course, but he’s missing the bigger picture. Superhero movies like The Avengers and Spider-Man are meant to appeal to a wide audience, hence their PG-13 rating. They’re for adults and kids, meaning they can’t cross over into bloody territory unless they’re meant to. Imagine taking your child to see an X-Men movie and Magneto uses his powers to remove some poor souls pacemaker from his chest just for kicks, and they actually show the skin ripping and tearing as the device is extracted and all that’s left is a wide open cavity filled with blood and gore? Doesn’t sound very kid-friendly, does it?
That type of stuff is best left to movies like The Long Walk, while most superhero films remain safe for all to watch. That’s the beauty of cinema: There’s always going to be something for everyone. Not everything has to emulate real life, otherwise, what the heck would we watch to escape from the horrors we see on the news every day?
There have been plenty of amazing years for moviegoers. 1982 was epic with E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Thing, and Blade Runner all coming out. 1994 stands out for Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, The Shawshank Redemption, and The Lion King arriving.
More recently, 2010 delivered modern classics like Inception, The Social Network, How To Train Your Dragon, and Toy Story 3. After 2019 delivered an all-time box office lineup featuring a record nine movies that made over $1 billion, the industry hasn’t been the same.
In the years since, Hollywood has been doing everything it can to recover from the impact of the pandemic and various strikes. That’s meant an even greater reliance on IP at times, with studios hoping that giving audiences known properties will bring the box office back to pre-pandemic levels at last.
There have been big hits in the 2020s, such as Avatar: The Way of Water, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Inside Out 2, Barbie, Top Gun: Maverick, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. But, nothing comes close to the lineup of 2027 blockbusters currently scheduled to dominate the box office. If they all hit their release dates, 2027 could be the biggest year ever for movies.
Ice Age: Boiling Point
Sid, Manny, Diego, Shangri Llama, Brooke, Crash, Eddie, and Buck in Ice Age: Collision Course
Release Date: February 5, 2027
20th Century Animation is reviving one of the biggest animated franchises ever in 2027. The main saga of Ice Age movies has been dormant since 2016, but the previous five movies collectively earned over $3.2 billion at the box office. After a straight-to-streaming spinoff in 2022, Ice Age: Boiling Point will bring the main cast back.
The movie was originally set for a late 2026 release, so audiences will only have to wait an additional few months to see Manny, Sid, Diego, and others back on the big screen. Boiling Point gets the honor of being the first true blockbuster to arrive in 2027 and has an early pathway to success with families and kids.
Sonic The Hedgehog 4
Shadow and Sonic stare at the stars in Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Release Date: March 19, 2027
Everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog returns in 2027 when Paramount puts Sonic the Hedgehog 4 in theaters. The video game movie franchise can now boast a cumulative $1 billion box office after the third film’s release, and the fourth movie is poised to do even better.
Ben Schwartz will be back as Sonic, and the excitement to see him team up with Amy Rose and battle Metal Sonic is palpable. With the franchise’s individual entries ascending higher at the box office with each installment, Sonic 4 could be the biggest of them all, especially after making audiences wait a bit longer than usual.
Godzilla x Kong: Supernova
Release Date: March 26, 2027
The Monsterverse returns in 2027 with what could be its biggest movie to date. Godzilla x Kong: Supernova is the third time Godzilla and Kong will unite in the franchise, and the results have so far been rather tremendous. Their first clash in 2021 made $470 million worldwide, and the sequel rose to $572 million three years later.
With a March 26 release date, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova will be one of the first big blockbusters to arrive in 2027. Seeing the Monsterverse franchise’s two biggest Titans fight and team up on the big screen is always a treat. That should be no different in two years.
The Legend Of Zelda
The Legend of Zelda‘s Link in front of Twilight Princess‘ Fishing Hole.Custom Image by Matthew Wilcox
Release Date: May 7, 2027
Nintendo kicked off its movie push in 2023 with the animated Mario movie, and while a sequel is coming next year, 2027 is when the much-requested live-action The Legend of Zelda comes. Sony originally had the movie dated to square off with Godzilla x Kong: Supernova before moving it to May 7.
Given the overall affection for Link and Zelda in the video game space, there’s no reason to think that The Legend of Zelda will be anything other than a mega hit. Newcomers front the cast in the lead roles, but more star power should come for Wes Ball’s adaptation, not that it needs it to be a success.
Star Wars: Starfighter
Ryan Gosling and Flynn Gray stand and sit side-by-side on the set of Star Wars: Starfighter.
Release Date: May 28, 2027
It’s already been six years since Lucasfilm put a Star Wars movie in theaters, and while that drought ends next year, 2027 brings another exciting project: Star Wars: Starfighter. The cast and crew is loaded with talent, with Shawn Levy directing, Ryan Gosling starring, and Matt Smith, Aaron Pierre, Amy Adams, and Mia Goth supporting.
Even though Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was a divisive conclusion to the Skywalker Saga, Starfighter represents a mostly fresh path forward for the iconic franchise. There’s every expectation that the movie will do huge business and be one of the biggest hits of 2027 with its premium summer release.
How To Train Your Dragon 2
Hiccup flying on Toothless in How to Train Your Dragon.
Release Date: June 11, 2027
DreamWorks is wasting no time in bringing another live-action remake of How To Train Your Dragon to audiences. The second film was announced before the 2025 remake debuted and became the franchise’s biggest box office hit, earning $630 million worldwide.
Expectations will be higher for the sequel, as the animated movie was previously the franchise’s strongest performer. Now that audiences have accepted the live-action take, seeing the continued adventures of Hiccup, Toothless, and Astrid should deliver massive ticket sales thanks to How To Train Your Dragon 2‘s grander scope.
Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse
Miles Morales In Spider-Man Suit Clinging To A Wall In Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse
Release Date: June 25, 2027
Miles Morales’ visually striking animated trilogy finally returns in 2027. After originally having plans for it to come out in 2024, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is now coming four years after Across the Spider-Verse‘s cliffhanger ending left everyone hungry for more.
The added wait should not decrease excitement here. And after multiple changes behind the scenes already, this release should stick. This will give Beyond the Spider-Verse a strong chance to deliver another major hit for Sony, following the success of the second film, which amassed $690 million worldwide —a significant increase from Into the Spider-Verse‘s $393 million.
Shrek 5
Fiona, Shrek, Felicia, and Donkey staring at Pinocchio’s nose in the Shrek 5 trailer
Release Date: June 30, 2027
Shrek is finally coming back to the big screen after a 17-year hiatus when DreamWorks puts Shrek 5 in theaters. The movie brings back Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy as the voices of Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey, while Zendaya has joined the voice cast as Shrek and Fiona’s daughter.
Even with the controversial animation changes showcased for Shrek 5, the movie’s release will still be a huge event. There is a massive amount of nostalgia tied to this franchise, which has made over $4 billion at the box office, including the two Puss in Boots spinoffs. The release coinciding with the extended July 4th weekend, a record performance could come.
Man Of Tomorrow
James Gunn directing David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult in Superman
Release Date: July 9, 2027
Less than two months after Superman‘s release, DC Studios and James Gunn have already confirmed plans for the follow-up, announcing Man of Tomorrow. The movie is a sequel of sorts to Superman with David Corenswet’s Superman and Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor returning.
Even without much information on the plot and cast, Man of Tomorrow jumps into a crowded 2027 with expectations to do even better than Superman‘s $612 million. Following the positive reception to the DC Universe so far, more goodwill with upcoming projects and the general interest in seeing Superman and Lex’s story evolve should make that possible.
A Quiet Place Part III
Release Date: July 9, 2027
It hasn’t been that long since we visited the world of John Krasinski’s horror franchise, thanks to last year’s prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One, but the core story with the Abbott family has been silent for five years. This will end after seven years with A Quiet Place Part III‘s release, as Krasinski returns to direct the next installment.
While the franchise has had declining results at the box office, its still a $900 million series that should garner plenty of interest upon its return. Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy should be back to star, as should Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe. It could even get a grand finale marketing treatment to boost interest higher.
Música Mexicana newcomer Netón Vega made his biggest strides as a songwriter for artists like Peso Pluma — but in the past year, he’s grown into a rising star in his own right.
The 22-year-old singer-songwriter, best known for his corridos, scored a surprise reggaeton smash in 2025 with “Loco,” which has counted over 474 million streams on Spotify.
Vega will soon make an appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, when he will contend with Bad Bunny, Shakira, Karol G and Rauw Alejandro in the best Latin category, for “La Patrulla,” his song with Peso Pluma.
“Obviously, I’ve never been [to the VMAs] before, so it’s very special for me,” Vega says with a big grin on his face on a recent Zoom call. Compared to his flashy contemporaries, he is known for his more laid-back flow and style — which is reflected in his humble Airbnb in Los Angeles with his guitar close by.
“To be a nominee among artists those artists, it’s muy chingón [f— awesome]. I would love for [me and Peso] to win, but the fact of being nominated with artists of that caliber, that’s already very big for me.”
Born Luis Ernesto Vega Carvajal in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Vega later relocated with his family to Sinaloa. While growing up in Culiacán, his hobby of writing songs took off when he befriended Pluma’s cousin Tito Double P. Both artists enlisted Vega to write for their albums: Peso Pluma’s 2023 album “Génesis” and Tito Double P’s 2024 LP “Incómodo.”
Vega soon moved from the studio to the spotlight when Pluma featured him on “La Patrulla,” from his 2024 record “Éxodo.” After making headway with his “Jalense La Greña” EP, Vega truly made his own mark on música Mexicana with his debut album “Mi Vida Mi Muerte.” In the LP, which dropped on Valentine’s Day, he infused corridos with Chicano rap in the swaggering title track and embraced reggaeton in the playful “Loco.”
Although today’s corridos stars are backed by labels Rancho Humilde and Peso Pluma’s Double P Records, Vega has found success with the independent imprint Josa Records. His hot streak of reggaeton hits has continued with Alemán’s “Te Quería Ver” and his own, titled “Qué Motor.” The hitmaker is in high demand, having guest-starred on albums by Belinda, Christian Nodal, Luis R. Conriquez, Chino Pacas, Gabito Ballesteros, and Óscar Maydon.
De Los caught up with Vega about his breakthrough year and what it means to broaden his horizons as a Mexican artist.
You were previously best known as a songwriter; now you have one of the biggest come-ups in 2025. What does that mean for you to be recognized as Netón Vega, the singer? It was a change that needed to happen. Songwriting opened the door for me as an artist. I’ve always had that hunger to do more, [and] it all happened very fast. I wasn’t a songwriter for that long. It only took a few songs to get me where I am today. We moved quickly with my project and it worked out!
Congratulations on your first MTV VMA nomination! How did the collaboration “La Patrulla” come together with Peso Pluma? When I was starting out, I gave him two songs [“Rubicon” and “La People”] for his album [“Génesis”], which became one of the biggest música Mexicana albums. From there, we stayed in touch. After that came “La Patrulla.” He told me, “Hey carnal, I’m going to invite you to be on my album.”
We made a deal. I had sent him my demo of “La Patrulla” before, but at first, he didn’t pay that much attention to it. Later on, he messaged me saying, “This one is it.” I always knew that this would happen. We recorded it and it worked out really well for his second album [“Éxodo”].
You’re on Peso Pluma and Tito Double P’s albums, and they’re featured on yours. What does that support that you have for one another mean to you? We don’t get together much, but there’s always support between us. We have great chemistry in the studio. If something comes up for us, we’re always like, “Of course, let’s do this!” I have a great friendship with them and there’s a sense of unity among us. When it comes to work, we always try to help each other out.
Your songs “Loco” and “Mi Vida Mi Muerte” blew up this year. How did that feel? It’s been bien loco, like I say in the song. [Laughs.] It’s very crazy because “Loco” was an experiment. I didn’t know what would happen with it, or if people would accept a corrido singer making reggaeton music. With “Mi Vida Mi Muerte,” I had always wanted to do a song like that one … I like hip-hop and I knew I would be able to pull off a song like that. With reggaeton, thank God that people loved “Loco” and it worked out.
With “Te Quería Ver” becoming another reggaeton hit, how do you feel to be representing Mexican artists in that genre? I honestly feel muy chingón. I never thought that I would make reggaeton music, but I’ve always loved that genre and listened to it. I liked listening to the reggaetoneros making reggaeton. Thank God that people are liking my style of reggaeton and I’m going to keep giving it my all. I’m one of the few Mexican artists at this level. Little by little, I’m going to keep doing what I can to get as far as I can go. I feel very proud to represent Mexico.
As a Mexican artist, do you have a message for Mexican immigrants whoare facing ICE raids and deportations under President Trump’s administration? Keep moving forward. We’ve always gone through difficult moments, but those moments don’t last forever. I’m sending a lot of blessings to not only Mexicans, but all the people that are going through this tough time. Hang in there. I’m sending them much love and strength and I hope this situation calms down soon.
Now you’re embracing EDM with Tiësto. Where did the idea come from to have Tiësto remix your song “Morena” with Peso Pluma? Tiësto remixed the song and he started playing it during his sets at different music festivals. People started to love his remix and the energy he brought to it. To make it an official remix, his team got in touch with my team. I said, “We have to do this.” We recorded it, sent it to Peso and he liked it, so it became an official remix with us three on it.
What do you want to accomplish next with your music? I don’t like to set goals. I’m a person that believes more in what’s meant for me will happen for me. I’m still working hard day by day. I want to reach more people, obviously Latinos, and whoever else I can reach. If they’re people that don’t speak Spanish, that would be amazing too. I hope to have all types of people listen to my music.
The Contenders is a midweek column that looks at artists aiming for the top of the Billboard charts, and the strategies behind their efforts. This week, for the upcoming Billboard Hot 100 dated Sept. 13, we look at Sabrina Carpenter’s first two singles from her just-released Man’s Best Friend set, and which may have the stronger performance on next week’s chart.

Sabrina Carpenter, “Tears” & “Manchild” (Island/Republic): Pop superstar Sabrina Carpenter is all but guaranteed to have the top spot on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart with her new set Man’s Best Friend. The follow-up to last year’s four-week Billboard 200 No. 1 Short n’ Sweet, Carpenter’s latest arrives on the back of a good deal of discourse around its provocative title and cover — which the singer-songwriter has largely shrugged off — as well as her second No. 1 on the Hot 100 with lead single “Manchild,” which became her first song to debut atop the chart upon its June release.
Next week, Carpenter will look to make it two No. 1 debuts in a row with winking, discofied second single “Tears” — which, as “Manchild” did, arrives along with a big new music video. Directed by Bardia Zeinali (who also helmed the Barry Keoghan-co-starring clip for Carpenter’s first Hot 100 No. 1, “Please Please Please”), the clip features a Rocky Horror Picture Show-inspired narrative, starring Emmy-winning actor Colman Domingo in drag, as well as elaborate staging and choreography. She has also maintained interest in the new video over the week by premiering multiple differing endings for the video — which originally closed with her killing her boyfriend, out of obligation to her personal brand — over the course of the album’s release week.
“Tears” is off to a very good start at DSPs, hitting No. 1 on both the Spotify Daily Top Songs USA chart and the Apple Music real-time chart, and maintaining in the top two on both throughout the week. On radio, it’s still only getting started, but is also set to make a fairly strong debut, possibly entering the top 25 on Pop Airplay, and earning 7.4 million in all-format audience over the first four days of the tracking week (Aug. 29-Sept. 1), according to Luminate. The one area where it’s clearly lagging behind where “Manchild” began is in sales, as “Tears” has had a good-not-great showing on iTunes, currently landing outside the top 25 on that real-time chart. (“Manchild” also had a sizeable first week in vinyl single sales; “Tears” is available for purchase only as a download.)
“Tears” will also face continued competition from “Manchild” on the chart next week, as that song had slipped out of the top 10 on the Hot 100, but rebounds 14-7 this week with notable gains in both streaming and radio. Those streams should continue to rise for next week with the release of the full Man’s Best Friend (which “Manchild” leads off), and the song is also continuing to grow on radio, most likely tracking for a second week atop the Pop Airplay chart, and up another 5% in all-format audience over that Aug. 29-Sept. 1 period.
Whether “Tears” can outpace “Manchild” and put up a real challenge for the No. 1 spot may be determined by its final few days of tracking — as the song returned to the top of the Spotify daily listing after Labor Day Weekend, and may continue to swell from there as more and more listeners catch onto its charms.
HUNTR/X: EJAE, Audrey Nuna & REI AMI, “Golden” (Visva/Republic): The biggest challenge for “Tears” on the Hot 100 will of course be getting past HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” which holds at No. 1 this week for a third week, and which hasn’t stopped growing yet in either streams or sales. It’s taken back the top spot on the Apple Music real-time listing from “Tears” — and has traded off the Spotify daily No. 1 with Carpenter over the course of the week — and it continues to be one of the week’s best-sellers, currently ranking at No. 2 on the real-time iTunes chart.
And on radio, it’s officially taken off. The song is up 10% over that Aug. 29-Sept. 1 period, trending towards both the top 10 on the Pop Airplay chart and the top 25 on the overall Radio Songs listing. It’s crazy to say about a song by a fictional girl group from a K-pop movie musical — versus one of the most consistent radio hitmakers of the last two years — but radio may be the thing that keeps “Golden” out of range for Sabrina Carpenter’s latest to pass next week on the Hot 100.
High Potential Season 2 is taking shape at ABC as the network finally drops the official trailer for the latest chapter, as Kaitlin Olson‘s Morgan and crew tackle new and ongoing mysteries this fall.
In anticipation of the show’s arrival, ABC has unveiled a few other sneak peeks besides the trailer, including the premiere date, and announced some exciting casting for fans to look forward to. The latest addition to the series is Mekhi Phifer, who will join the show in a recurring guest star capacity, although details surrounding his role remain under wraps, according to Variety, which revealed his casting.
Who will make High Potential Season 2?

High Potential, Season 2 Premiere, Tuesday, September 16, 10/9c, ABC
The mysterious nature of this message created much speculation among his followers as to what might be happening in the artist’s mind and, therefore, causing Doodie Lo to gift them with the latest developments. Because of his gritty storytelling and Detroit roots, few of his updates ever ended up becoming newsworthy. That kind of breaking silence always results in the frenzy harbored by die-hard fans.

This video features an uncompromising acoustic display of purposeful lyrics. What seems to have been a raw emotional outpouring are reflections on street life, loyalty, and survival. The lines, “Lines of niggas turn things back on us when the hoist left” and “If you see the blue lights better dash” instantly establish a very concrete pictorial narrative on the part of the artist. This very likely could have been a more private performance; it almost feels like a spontaneous freestyle.
Doodie Lo is an established name in the Detroit drill arena, through genuine and nothing-but-the-truth music. Sometimes, that music is seen as a documentary of his life and environment. To those who appreciate his candor, he is the man that speaks to their hearts. He remains an aloof presence on all social media platforms, with the very diluted phrase serving as a kind of intimation.
In the waiting game, the phrase “I’m just being patient” could very much be hinting at some new music, project, or willingness to come to fruition. Hence, the artist purposely left himself open to speculation without giving any concrete explanations. The emoji hints that the artist is willingly choosing to show either goodwill or profound disappointment from within, thus standing on the fence with ambivalence.
Given the rarity of his words, they are always highly anticipated due to his background. Almost all of Doodie Lo’s previous releases were preceded by similar cryptic teasers that organically built interested anticipation and excitement without heavy-handed advertising. That is what has worked for the artist well; it is one of the very things that fans cherish.
The lyrics included in the video offer some semblance of a backdrop, evocative of struggles and resistance. These acts assist in building out the image of this artist further: that is, an artist that would never lose touch with his roots after he notches a little success. Every bit of rawness that comes in his delivery signifies that this man, indeed, has not lost sight of what really matters to him.
Social networking is the access path connecting all artists today with their fan base and shedding light upon their inner psyche in any given moment. Here comes another classic Doodie Lo trademark where he chooses to remain ambiguous. This leaves so much room for conjecture while still maintaining mystery.
What makes this all the more curious is that there is no reaction to it yet. Usually, there would be an eruption of interpretations, reactions, speculations, comments, and predictions on such a tease, yet it is just silent at the moment. It could be an indication that this post is truly very recent. Or maybe the fans have deliberately set their thoughts aside for longer pondering.
In a town where fans hold truthfulness in highest regard, Doodie Lo’s forthright manner comes off as authentic. He doesn’t need cryptic clues or hype; he lets his music and occasional posts speak for themselves, building a following that is just as consistent as it is substantive.
Feed that morsel of news until actual fodder is available. A stark reminder that when it comes to bonding with the fans, sometimes less is more. There may be plenty left to glean from that patience mentioned in the post-especially pertaining to new records illustrating his voice and unique perspective further.

As hip-hop awaits further clues with baited breath, the only certainty is that Doodie Lo definitely does not fight the spectacle. A slow-and-steady approach to chronicling his life hits with such resonance in this age of crazy oversharing so that this post could never really allow his community to lose appreciation for his style of art and candidness.

Pumpkin Roll Secrets I Swear By
No-Crack Confidence: Say goodbye to the messy towel method. With parchment, this roll lifts, rolls, and slices beautifully every time.
Perfect Texture: Rolling the cake while warm sets the curve, chilling locks it in, and my timing tricks keep it fluffy, not dry.
Pro Secrets Built In: From pure pumpkin purée (not pie filling!) to the right pan size, I’ve tested it all so you don’t have to.
Ingredients Needed
Pumpkin Purée: Use pure pumpkin purée, not pie filling. If you use homemade, squeeze in cheesecloth to remove excess water.
Spices: Substitute with 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice if preferred.
How to Make the BEST Pumpkin Roll
Get ready to see how EASY it is to make this pumpkin roll! Seriously, you’ll want to make this all year long after trying it!
Prep & Parchment: Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a 10×15-inch jelly roll pan with parchment, leaving a 1-inch overhang, and lightly spray with cooking spray. *Parchment prevents sticking, makes lifting easy, and helps roll the cake without cracks. In a large bowl, beat eggs, sugar, pumpkin, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until combined.
Whisk & Mix: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Then, add the flour mixture to the egg mixture until just barely combined, and no streaks of flour remain.
Bake: Pour and spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 13-16 minutes, until the center of the cake springs back when gently pressed. *Start checking at 11 minutes.
Cool Rolled Up: Remove and allow it to cool until it’s cool enough to touch. Use the parchment to lift the cake out of the pan before gently rolling it up from one short end, rolling the parchment up inside. Keeping the cake in a roll, let it cool completely on a wire rack. *This sets the curve so it rolls back easily with filling.
Make Filling: While the cake cools, add the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla to a large bowl and beat with a hand mixer until smooth.
Fill & Roll: Once the cake has cooled completely, carefully unroll it. Spread the cream cheese filling over the cake, leaving a ¼-inch border around the edges. Tightly roll the cake back up from the short side, removing the parchment paper as you go. Chill the cake for at least an hour, then sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
Alyssa’s Pro Pumpkin Roll Tips
If this is your first time making a roll cake, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Pay attention to the details in the instructions and follow these helpful tips.
Pan Size: A 10×15-inch jelly roll pan is ideal, but a 12×17-inch works, just reduce baking time by 2–3 minutes.
Filling: Don’t overfill. Leave a ¼–½ inch border to keep it from oozing.
Rolling: Roll snugly using the parchment, but not so tight that it cracks. Peel parchment slowly for a clean roll.
Chill Before Cutting: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight) for clean, even slices. Use a sharp knife or unflavored dental floss.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 10 x 15 x 1-inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper, leaving a 1-inch overhang on both sides. Lightly spray the parchment with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
Add 3 large eggs, 1 cup granulated sugar, ⅔ cup pumpkin puree, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg, and ¼ teaspoon ground cloves to a large bowl and beat with a handmixer until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together ¾ cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and ½ teaspoon salt. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture until just barely combined, and no streaks of flour remain.
Spread the batter evenly in the prepared jelly roll pan. Bake in the oven for 13-16 minutes, until the center of the cake springs back when very gently pressed on.
Remove the pan from the oven and allow it to cool for just a couple of minutes, until it’s cool enough to touch. Use the parchment to lift the cake out of the pan before gently rolling up the cake from a short end, allowing the parchment to roll up inside it. Keeping the cake in a roll, let it cool completely on a wire rack
Cream Cheese Filling
While the cake cools, add 1 (8-ounce) package softened cream cheese, 3 tablespoons softened salted butter, 1 cup powdered sugar, and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract to a large bowl and beat with a hand mixer until smooth.
Once the cake has cooled completely, carefully unroll it. Spread the cream cheese filling over the cake, leaving a ¼-inch border around the edges. Tightly roll the cake back up from the short side, removing the parchment paper as you go.
Chill the cake for at least an hour before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
Make Ahead and Storage Instructions
Make Ahead: Keep the rolled cake (unfilled) in the fridge for up to 2 days, then bring it to room temperature before filling. Or fully assemble with filling and refrigerate up to 4 days. Always wrap well in plastic.
Storing: Wrap the cake in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
Freezing: Best frozen fully assembled. Wrap the chilled cake in several layers of plastic wrap plus foil, then place it in a freezer bag. Freeze up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before slicing. You can also slice, wrap, and freeze individual pieces for up to 3 months.
Dressed in torn cargo pants and beat up Vans, architectural designer and DIY influencer Ben Uyeda was stretched out poolside in a rare moment of repose on a recent Tuesday evening at Reset, his new hotel in 29 Palms.
“This is the best time to watch the mountains,” he said, looking south toward the direction of Joshua Tree National Park. “Right now they look really jagged, but they’ll turn soft and orange as the sun sets.”
A mountain glowing orange at sunset is visible from one of Reset Hotel’s 65 modular rooms.
Sitting next to him were his collaborators Emi Kitawaki and Jen Whitaker of the design firm Gry Space who created the look and tone of Reset’s spare, earthy interiors. Sharing a cold cucumber salad from the hotel’s in-house restaurant, they gazed across the spacious pool area with its wide platform loungers and stucco walls that perfectly matched the color of the dusty landscape beyond.
“The sky is the show,” Kitawaki said, looking up.
Reset, which opened to the public this summer, is a new kind of hotel for the high desert: Modern. Minimal. Modular. While the pool area with its hot tub, sauna and thoughtful landscaping is pure desert luxury, the rest of the hotel consists of 65 rectangular-shaped, free-standing rooms laid out in neat rows. Each sparsely furnished room is outfitted with carefully selected amenities that suggest a highly curated camping trip — a stylish solar lantern, in-room pour-over coffee, an outdoor fire pit and, most importantly, a sturdy cushion on the private outdoor patio for stargazing.
“The best view here is always up,” Uyeda said.
DIY influencer Ben Uyeda collaborated with visual designers Emi Kitawaki and Jen Whitaker of Gry Space to create the earthy and modern look of Reset Hotel.
The rooms are not technically built from shipping containers, but with their boxy shape, corrugated silver sides and narrow dimensions, they sure look like it. Walking along the hotel’s concrete paths, the overall effect is far more sci-fi than Old West. As one guest put it, “It feels like a test case for Elon Musk’s first colony on Mars.”
The hotel’s designers say the evocation of space travel was deliberate.
“When we came onto the project, the first thing Ben mentioned was what would humans do if we built a community on Mars,” Kitawaki said. “Everything is designed from a more mission, utilitarian standpoint: What is actually needed?”
Whitaker and Kitawaki chose spare and earthy furnishings for the rooms at Reset Hotel. The goal was “to bring the outside in” Whitaker said.
A DIY hotel
A handful of new hotels opened in the Joshua Tree area as tourism to the park has soared over the last several years. The most recent additions include the bare-bonesField Station, which took over the former Travel Lodge in Yucca Valley in 2024 andHotel Wren, a revamped 1940s roadside motel in 29 Palms that opened this year. But Reset is the first hotel to be built from the ground up in the area in 15 years.
Uyeda, who has more than 1.6 million subscribers on his YouTube channel HomeMade Modern, got involved with the project after building a shipping container house in Joshua Tree and releasing a docuseries detailing the process in 2020. A former professor of architecture at Northeastern and Cornell universities, he’d noticed that as home prices skyrocketed there was a corresponding increase of interest in potentially more affordable construction like tiny homes, earthships and container homes. “People say it’s a trend, but in fact only about 100 of these have been built,” he said. “I don’t have a negative take on shipping container houses, but if something was really moving the needle then more people would be doing it.”
Uyeda and his team handmade roughly 500 pieces of furniture for Reset Hotel. Rooms are furnished with a solar lantern, a Bluetooth player and a stone vase that Uyeda made.

Soon after completing his shipping container house, Uyeda began having conversations with his now business partner Adam Wininger about how the rise of Airbnb was converting desperately needed housing in the desert to vacation rentals. They wondered if building modular structures on land that was already zoned for commercial use might be one solution to increasing lodging units without impacting local housing supply. While the process of building modular is not cheaper than a regular build, it is faster, especially in a remote desert location.
“We’re both native Californians,” he said. “There is a real demand for this kind of hospitality.”
The seeds of the Reset were planted.
The team acquired 180 acres of property in 2020 and began construction in 2023.
Room modules were made in a factory outside of Ontario, Canada, at the same time that foundation work was occurring in 29 Palms. Throughout the process Uyeda promoted the hotel on his social media feeds by releasing DIY videos demonstrating how he and his small team hand-built 500 pieces of furniture for Reset includingfold-out desks, couches, daybeds and a vase made out of rock while also offering his followers a sneak peek at Reset’s construction process.
“So often you don’t know what’s real and what’s not,” Kitawaki said. “But when you come here, it feels personal. You’re connected to the items you see in the hotel because you saw how they were made.”

Waking up on Mars
So, what’s it like to stay in a futuristic, DIY desert hotel?
“The word ‘Mars’ has come up a lot,” said a young man from San Francisco who was visiting with his girlfriend. “The name Reset feels apt. We definitely feel like we are taking a break from civilization.”
The hotel has four types of rooms — two offer desert views, two do not. I booked the Mountain View Suite, which has the most bells and whistles. In the context of Reset this means it had a large window at one end of the unit that looked out toward the park, a couch in the room and a soaking tub on the private outdoor patio. Like all the rooms, it was also equipped with an outdoor fire pit and a comfortable cushion for stargazing.
A guest walks into the luxurious pool area.
The room itself was neatly ordered with walnut and cement accents. Nothing felt extraneous. Everything felt organic, a choice the designers said was deliberate.
“It was all about how do we get the inside to look like the outside,” said Whitaker who, with her partner Kitawaki chose all the furnishings and finishes down to the organic bath products from Flamingo Estate. “It’s why we used so many materials from the land itself.”
Reset is just 6 minutes from the 29 Palms entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, making the hotel an easy home base for exploring the park. It also offers easy access to the growing community of creative businesses in the town of 29 Palms.
When I first arrived at Reset, I was taken aback by the starkness of the space, but it didn’t take long for the hotel’s minimalism and clean lines to grow on me. Whether I was in bed, at the pool, or lying on my private patio, the thoughtfully designed spaces always encouraged me to look out and up.
I’ve spent a lot of time in the Mojave, and each time I visit I am struck again by its otherworldliness. Sitting in my modular room at Reset, comfy in my little pod, I felt I could stare out at it all day.
