There was a time in the not-too-distant past when former UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, was unimpressed with “rat lip” Khamzat Chimaev, an up-and-coming middleweight who was “not really relevant” in the 185-pound title picture.
“He’s really good,” Adesanya told reporters during the UFC Saudi Arabia media day (via The Mac Life). “When he fought Gilbert Burns was the one I had respect for him, I was like okay, he’s got that dog in him, he can fight, he can dig deep and he can still swing. But when he fought Rob and beat him the way he did, it made me take notice. Like okay, I gotta be careful with this guy, watch out for this guy.”
Adesanya (24-4) and Chimaev (14-0) are separated by just one spot in the latest UFC middleweight rankings, but that pecking order could change if “The Last Stylebender” falls to Nassourdine Imavov in the UFC Saudi Arabia headliner this weekend in Riyadh.
Chimaev is currently unbooked and that status is unlikely to change until after the UFC 312 pay-per-view (PPV) card next month in Sydney, where Dricus Du Plessis defends the middleweight title in a rematch against former champion Sean Strickland.
Struggling to make your GP take notice of your ailment?
Actress Robyn Holdaway, who appeared in Sex Education, alongside their spouse Natasha Miles, revealed on TikTok what they term “cheat codes” to ensure doctors take you seriously. They uploaded a clip highlighting particular phrases that could be crucial in getting your point across during doctor consultations.
Robyn captioned their video: “These are some of the phrases that we, and our followers, have found helpful when dealing with medical professionals.” Kickstarting their list were the expressions, “This is having a significant impact on my/my partner’s quality of life”, and, “It is keeping me from carrying out my day-today activities” – ideal ways to express your urgency.
The pair also advised viewers to mention if health problems necessitate time off work or lament that you’ve “struggled to get the appropriate care”. And when feeling ignored, they suggest asking the doctor to “make a note” explaining why they’re “denying” necessary treatment or requesting your medical records post-consultation.
“Other people have noticed the problems I’m having and have said to me that it may be an issue”, is another phrase Robyn flagged, while Natasha followed up with: “My pain is significant enough that I can’t sleep or I can’t walk”.
For those who are overweight, Robyn suggests informing your doctor that you’re already on a weight loss journey, but your symptoms have worsened. “This can be a really quick cheat for your doctor to not just say, ‘Have you tried losing weight?'” they added.
Natasha, meanwhile, advises individuals with a complex psychiatric history to tell their doctor they’ve consulted with all involved in their psychiatric care and they agree this is not a psychiatric issue. If you’re struggling, the pair also recommend telling your GP that over-the-counter medication hasn’t worked and you’ve tried everything to manage your problem, but now need to “escalate” it.
Wrapping up their advice, Robyn suggests stating your expected outcome at the start of your appointment, while Natasha adds if the desired result isn’t achieved, request a referral to a specialist or a second opinion from another colleague. This is an “amazingly passive aggressive” tactic she says.
The video has since gone viral, with hundreds of TikTok users sharing their thoughts. A former medical professional was one of the first to respond: “As an ex-nurse who left the NHS because of bullying and gaslighting I strongly approve of everything you have said here!”
A second person hailed: “You’ve mastered the art of effective communication, significantly enhancing your ability to be heard.” A thankful third expressed: “This is great! (Also though a little bit sad that we can’t just get help from doctors without having to ‘cheat’).”
Meanwhile, a fourth individual commented: “Really good tips! I always get a copy of my medical records from the doctors regardless as it’s proof of everything that’s happened to you for future reference.”
Elsewhere in the comments, a doctor added their professional perspective: “To clarify, this helps us doctors because we can use these direct quotes to justify referrals to other specialists/further tests, otherwise that test/referral risks being bounced back or rejected.”
Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.
We’ve all heard the tales about major companies that were once nothing more than a small side hustle in someone’s garage. This is an entrepreneur’s dream, but scaling a side hustle may be more challenging than you might imagine. As a business grows, it becomes more complex, requiring the business owner to take risks, hire new team members and expand into uncharted services or demographics.
It’s critical for entrepreneurs to know how to scale their business without losing focus on the business itself. After all, you have to keep servicing your customers while you are working toward expansion. Here are some easy ways to make sure you are well-positioned to scale your side hustle to the next level.
Scaling a side hustle to a full-fledged business can be overwhelming and scary. The reality is that most entrepreneurs are overly ambitious and set their sights on big accomplishments. The challenge is that without a clear expansion plan, you could hinder your progress or leave your business stuck in side hustle mode.
Take the time to carefully examine what bottlenecks could be holding your business back from growing faster, what opportunities you have to add additional products and which demographics could offer a new customer segment. With a clear and concentrated effort, you’ll be more likely to benefit from each intentional action you take to scale your business.
2. Expand your team
In most cases, growing your side hustle will require additional help to service customers, process orders and manage other administrative tasks. This is probably the most intimidating thing about scaling a side hustle. The first step is to start getting tasks off your plate. Start by automating any recurring tasks that you have. This not only saves you time but means you don’t have to hire someone to do this activity. You can also outsource things like bookkeeping and social media management. By freeing up your schedule, you can spend more time capturing more sales and starting to work on things that will help you scale more efficiently.
Another challenge is that when you’re flying solo, everything falls on your shoulders. While it’s great to get additional employees to help, there may be a struggle to let go and trust others to provide the same quality of care that you put into your business. Strategic business coach Bruce Eckfeldt recommends implementing and documenting standard opening procedures. This ensures that new team members know how to do things to your standard and provide a consistent customer experience.
3. Prepare financially
Cash flow is essential for any business, but it’s especially important for scaling businesses. In fact, over 80% of businesses fail for this reason alone. As you grow your business, you’ll need additional cash reserves to pay for higher expenses, maintain a larger inventory and cover payroll costs. This is especially important when hiring employees, as this will likely be one of your largest expenses. It’s a good idea, as Jeff Sauer recommends, to have a clear understanding of the financial benefit the employee will return to the business before you hire them.
Spend time with your bookkeeper or accountant to better understand what you can do to strengthen your business’s cash flow. In some cases, it might be good to proactively secure a line of credit with your bank that you can use if needed.
In the beginning, most entrepreneurs focus on implementing cheap or free technology. This can be beneficial, especially when you have limited financial resources. As you grow your business, you’ll want to implement tools and technology that are scalable. Think about where you see your business in five or 10 years. You should be implementing tools that can handle that future anticipated volume — otherwise, you may be forced to change technology platforms, which can be disruptive for your growing business.
5. Establish KPIs
As your business grows, it’s important to understand if the business remains healthy. A great way to measure your success is by implementing key performance indicators (KPIs). These metrics can give you an early indication of something going wrong and help drive performance with your team. You can track metrics like average customer satisfaction rating, shipping lead times, customer conversion rates and total sales volume. To keep the team focused on what’s most important, try to limit the number of KPIs to five to seven key metrics.
6. Get outside support
While you might be an expert in your side hustle, you might not be an expert in running a full-scale version of your business. Don’t be afraid to reach out to others and ask for help, support and guidance. Connecting with other business owners is a good way to tap into their past experiences. If you don’t have those connections to leverage, you can also hire a professional business coach to provide feedback, recommendations and advice on how to make the most of your business expansion.
Scaling a side hustle can be overwhelming. It’s important to recognize that this is a journey and success may not happen overnight. Be patient with yourself. In addition, growing a business requires a lot of hard work. Don’t forget to prioritize your physical and mental health to avoid burnout. By keeping yourself motivated, you can keep moving the needle toward the business you want to have.
Amazon was sued on Wednesday by consumers who accused the retailing giant of secretly tracking their movements through their cellphones, and selling data it collects.
According to a proposed class action in San Francisco federal court, Amazon obtained “backdoor access” to consumers’ phones by providing tens of thousands of app developers with code known as Amazon Ads SDK to be embedded in their apps.
This allegedly enabled Amazon to collect an enormous amount of timestamped geolocation data about where consumers live, work, shop and visit, revealing sensitive information such as religious affiliations, sexual orientations and health concerns.
“Amazon has effectively fingerprinted consumers and has correlated a vast amount of personal information about them entirely without consumers’ knowledge and consent,” the complaint said.
The complaint was filed by Felix Kolotinsky of San Mateo, Calif., who said Amazon collected his personal information through the “Speedtest by Ookla” app on his phone.
He said Amazon’s conduct violated California’s penal law and a state law against unauthorized computer access, and seeks unspecified damages for millions of Californians.
Amazon, based in Seattle, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Lawyers for the plaintiff did not immediately respond to requests for additional comment.
Individuals and regulators are increasingly complaining that companies are trying to profit from information gathered without consent from cellphones.
On Jan. 13, the state of Texas sued Allstate for allegedly tracking drivers through cellphones, using the data to raise premiums or deny coverage, and selling the data to other insurers.
Allstate said its data collection fully complies with all laws and regulations. At least eight similar private lawsuits against Allstate have been subsequently filed.
The case is Kolotinsky v Amazon.com Inc et al, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, No. 25-00931.
Yes, you read that right: $50 million mulcted from taxpayers and set to be used to make sure there are enough prophylactics to go around in an America-hating polity allied with our greatest regional enemy, Iran.
Adding to the outrage is the fact for years Hamas killers have repurposed condoms, inflating them with helium to serve as floats for airborne explosive devices.
But the waste-a-palooza ain’t just Trojans for terrorists.
To get a glimpse of the truly dumb stuff our foreign aid dollars get spent on, consider State Department staffers’ waiver requests (dug up by the indispensable Washington Free Beacon) submitted to save programs they considered worthy of the freeze.
Like $21.7 million for the Bureau for Resilience, Environment, and Food Security, an outfit at USAID focused on“equity and environmental justice through the empowerment of marginalized and underrepresented populations.”
Boy, just what America needs to win in strategic contests with China, Russia and Iran!
Or $62.7 million for the Bureau for Inclusive Growth, Partnerships, and Innovation, which (in the words of the request) “leads in carrying out key Agency priorities, including pursuing gender equality and inclusive development.”
It’s bad enough that big corporations wasted money on jargon-powered nonsense like this; sticking taxpayers with the bill for it is obscene.
These are the rich little fiefdoms of career bureaucrats, and the frightened whining about funding cuts arises from their self-interest — not America’s or its taxpayers’.
As the White House continues to trim the fat abroad and at home, it’s important to treat the squeals of protest for what they are: noise from an increasingly nervous pork pen.
This year, it will be 15 years since Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) listed on the stock exchange. During those years it seems as if there has been a never-ending battle between bears saying Tesla stock was surely headed for a fall and bulls who reckoned the long-term investment case was not fully reflected in the price.
As ever, that remains the case.
Tesla stock is up 808% in five years and 84% just since late October.
But with a market capitalisation of $1.2trn and a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 108, Tesla’s current valuation seems to factor in a huge amount of growth potential – and even then could still be seen as pricy.
I like the company’s prospects and think its strong brand, proprietary technology, and large customer base set it up well for ongoing commercial success.
But is there any point in me shelling out for Tesla stock at this point given its giddy valuation?
Three possible drivers for a higher valuation
That depends on what I expect to happen to the business in coming years and decades.
I do see several possible drivers to push Tesla stock even higher.
One, which we have seen many times in the past (just look at that gain since October!), is momentum. Stock market participants scared of missing out have often piled into Tesla shares, pushing the price up higher.
But that momentum-based approach does not interest me, as I think it is closer to speculation than investing. I prefer to invest in an enterprise (or not) based on business fundamentals.
Transformational business potential
Could the fundamentals justify a higher price?
Again, I think the answer is potentially yes.
One driver could be much improved earnings. Although the company’s electric sales volumes fell slightly last year, it has a long history of revenue growth and I think it has the tools to keep delivering on that, for example, by introducing new models.
Plus, in carmaking, economies of scale are a big thing (no pun intended).
Tesla’s strong sales mean it could improve profit margins in coming years, by stripping out costs and also selling add-ons with high profit margins. One risk I see there, though, is that the competitive electric vehicle market could mean it increasingly needs to compete on price, hurting margins.
A third driver is growth outside the vehicle business.
Its energy storage business is already going gangbusters. On top of that, Tesla could also launch new product lines from a driverless taxi operation to commercial applications using its vast trove of customer journey data.
If growth from areas beyond vehicle sales boosts earnings, that could propel Tesla stock upwards.
At 108, the P/E ratio tells its own tale
But a lot of that feels fairly speculative for now.
Meanwhile, Tesla’s triple-digit P/E ratio looks far too high for my comfort as a would-be investor.
Given risks ranging from growing competition to a change in tax credit regimes in the US and elsewhere, does Tesla stock merit being priced at over a century’s worth of earnings at the current level?
I do not think so.
Again, that feels like a speculator’s valuation to me, more than a savvy investor’s one. So, I have no plans to buy Tesla for my portfolio.
How the Texans can win: As with the Rams, they’re an indoor team playing in the cold and on house money, so they can embrace some risk. The Chiefs have had to reshuffle their offensive line, including at left tackle, so that could be a vulnerability. That’s caused the run game to fade and forced Patrick Mahomes to lean more into a nickel-and-dime approach. Typically, Steve Spagnuolo’s defenses don’t give up big plays, but the Chiefs haven’t been great about that this season.
How the Chiefs can win: Give Andy Reid extra time to plot a strategy, and his teams are scary. The Chiefs know just what to do in January games — check their trophy case. Defensively, they need to put the clamps on receiver Nico Collins, more of a threat now that the Texans have lost Tank Dell (injured in the Week 16 game against Kansas City). Mahomes is the key, of course, and there’s nobody better when it comes to getting out of the pocket and creating big plays with his arm and legs.
Pick: The Chiefs haven’t been an offensive powerhouse this season, but they’re great at doing what they need to at the right time. It’s going to be cold. It’s going to be loud. Reid is going to have his team ready, and Mahomes is going to do what he needs to do to win. Chiefs 27, Texans 20
SAN ANTONIO — The dance music blared as the crowd took turns roaring its way through a fourth-quarter timeout, Lakers coach JJ Redick frustrated after another clean look for the San Antonio Spurs allowed them to pull within a point.
To that point, Friday’s game had delivered.
With the NBA Cup raising the stakes, Anthony Davis and Victor Wembanyama dueled. The teams traded, and blew, double-digit leads. And with the music of LMFAO turned up to 11 midway through the fourth, the NBA had exactly what it wanted — a November game that felt like it mattered.
The crowd buzzed with each possession, a Wembanyama dunk off a lob getting a roar on one end. A clutch Davis triple on the other leading to a collective groan.
It went that way, deep into the final minute, with the Lakers making the biggest plays in the final seconds of a 120-115 win.
“You get to play a game like this on the road, especially when we’ve been struggling on the road — to come in this locker room at the end of the game and get the win, I mean, it was phenomenal,” Davis said. “Taking steps in the right direction.”
Davis, who scored a season-high 40 points, worked from the block with Wembanyama on his hip and the shot clock running down, only to find a cutting LeBron James for a layup that helped ice the win.
“It was big-time for our team knowing that we can execute down the stretch,” James said. “And it doesn’t always have to be in early transition or it doesn’t always have to be just the ball in my hands and we isolate or whatever the case may be.”
Six Lakers scored in double figures. James emphatically clapped his hands and Davis held the ball in the air at the final horn.
“That’s what we want to do,” Davis said. “We want to be just as good of a road team as we are a home team. And we can’t do that if we don’t come out and compete. We’ve been just a different team when we’ve been out on the road. The way we compete, share the ball, play together at home, is totally different than when we get on the other side on the road. So we did that tonight.”
On a night where he moved into a tie for the fifth-most regular-season games played, James figured out a way to do the incredible. In his 22nd season, James did something for the first time.
Following triple-doubles against Philadelphia, Toronto and Memphis, James did it for the fourth time in a row, the longest stretch of his career. He finished with 16 rebounds, 15 points and 12 assists. The Lakers won all four of those games.
“Waiting 22 years to do something is wild,” James said.
The Lakers (8-4) didn’t have starting forward Rui Hachimura, who missed the game because of a sprained ankle. They started rookie Dalton Knecht instead and he scored 14 points.
Their bench, one of their clearest weaknesses, had its best game. Max Christie, back in the rotation with Hachimura out, scored a season-high 11 points. Gabe Vincent, who has been in a shooting slump to start the season, had six points and three steals. Both helped change the game in the first half as the Lakers erased a 12-point deficit.
“He has a lot of belief in a lot of us and I think he definitely has a lot of belief in me and I can appreciate that coming from a head coach,” Christie said of Redick. “I know you know how I can play and I think tonight was a very good example of that, when I’m just out there playing free, playing the way I know I can play instead of just trying to overcomplicate things.”
The Lakers’ next NBA Cup game is Tuesday at home against Utah.
Paul Heyman is always in rhythm with a microphone in his hand in front of a WWE crowd, even as the beats have had to change for the first time.
Heyman, 59, has been the quintessential heel manager for most of his 38-year career from working with the Dangerous Alliance in WCW to Brock Lesnar to CM Punk and now Roman Reigns in WWE with many more in between.
That changed after Reigns’ 1,316-day world championship reign ended with a loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 last April.
It put the former Undisputed WWE champion on a journey from hated heel to top babyface with Heyman as his “Wiseman” doing much of the heavy lifting on screen as Reigns took some time away.
For Heyman, the task was to find a new balance that didn’t violate the integrity of his on-screen character while directed at a different goal in the company’s five-year-long Bloodline saga as Solo Sikoa now tried to ascend to Reigns’ position as Tribal Chief.
“I’ve never looked for sympathy before, but coming out of WrestleMania, I was clearly putting myself in a sympathetic position as Solo’s reign of terror started to become the dominant storyline on SmackDown,” Heyman said in a phone interview.
“I don’t think the presentation of the character is much different. I think the very same things that made the character compelling as a villain make the character interesting to watch in a form in which he will elicit the respect of the crowd to be bestowed upon him.”
There is a change in Heyman’s approach to promos and what he wants to accomplish.
“My rhythm as a villain is to end sentences on a dagger that are not only toward the opponent but stick and twist into the audience,” Heyman said. “The rhythm as a protagonist is to stick and twist the intended opponent or the adversary, but not the audience. To have the audience do the stick and twist with you as your chorus.”
The story’s events led Heyman to one of the most special moments of his career on June 28 when he refused to acknowledge Sikoa as his Tribal Chief and was triple-powerbombed through the announce table at Madison Square Garden, the building where his foray into wrestling began in 1986 as a photographer and Reigns’ Anoa’i family has such a rich history.
To prepare for the moment, Heyman, who looked completely disheveled and aged that night, only got 90 minutes of sleep over the course of a night and a half, stripped the dye from his hair, wore no makeup and even ate food that upset his stomach to change his skin color.
He was able to avoid people in the world outside WWE from worrying about his appearance slowly falling apart after WrestleMania for the betterment of the story.
“Anybody that had seen me in the outside world had already seen me now for a few weeks on unshaven and I’m very lowkey when I go out, I pick my spots,” Heyman said. “I try to be as incognito as possible. So there weren’t a lot of people coming through, ‘Oh, my god, are you OK? Most people didn’t get a chance to see me. The shock value has to be when you see me, ‘My god, what happened to him.’”
Heyman said that level of commitment was needed whether it happened at MSG or not, but the calendar provided the perfect venue for the story to play out. He went over the rhythm of that segment in his head the whole week leading up to SmackDown to get it perfect.
“We weren’t going to change around the story to accommodate Madison Square Garden,” Heyman said. “It just so happened that the stars were all aligned, and doing it at the Garden did indeed add so much to it.”
The planning and storytelling around Reigns and The Bloodline have WWE entering Saturday’s Royal Rumble (6 p.m., Peacock) at Lucas Oil Stadium with various subplots revolving around Reigns, who on Monday was announced as the cover athlete for upcoming WWE 2K25 video game.
Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Sami Zayn, Drew McIntyre and Jey Uso and others all have ties to Reigns and their on-screen experiences with The Bloodline They, along with Reigns, will all be in the men’s Royal Rumble with a world championship match in the main event of WrestleMania on the line.
In addition, the story of Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens’ ladder match for the Undisputed WWE championship ties back to The Prize Fighter’s hate of the champion teaming with Reigns at Bad Blood.
The idea of creating an extended and cohesive universe revolving around the “Tribal Chief” has been a goal all along. Reigns in WWE’s dramatic episodic series is treated no differently than Tony Soprano in “The Sopranos,” Walter White in “Breaking Bad” and John Dutton in “Yellowstone.”
“The depth of that (main) character has affected everything and everyone within the story,” Heyman said of the TV dramas’ leading characters. “And that’s Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns is the central character around which all WWE stories revolve, and they should be several degrees of separation away from Roman Reigns. But Roman Reigns’ actions affect everyone top to bottom with a trickle-down theory and everyone else’s actions trickle up towards Roman Reigns.”
There may be no more famous supporting character in the story than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who also sits on the board of directors of WWE’s parent company, TKO. The Rock returned to the ring to tag with Reigns at WrestleMania 40 and last appeared acknowledging Reigns as Tribal Chief on Raw’s Netflix debut on Jan. 6.
How and when The Rock factors into the story going forward is often decided by his availability around his film responsibilities. It’s a delicate balance both sides are adjusting to as WWE is planning where the story goes next without having a Plan A and a Plan Rock.
“There is a leadership by example to be set by someone who’s on the board of directors, much like Dwayne’s responsibilities as just a star of a movie are far different than when he’s one of the executive producers of the movie as well,” Heyman said. “So he’s not just a talent, he’s a member of the board of directors.
“And so, there is a process by which creative has to flow seamlessly here, and he has to be part of that seamless flow. There’s a balancing act, and I think he and everyone involved in potential Rock creative are finding that balance.”
Two of the story’s emerging characters are Sikoa, who went from Reigns’ silent enforcer to challenging his cousin for the right to be Tribal Chief, and Jacob Fatu, who quickly went from Sikoa’s enforcer to now being unleashed as the potential leader of the opposing Bloodline faction.
Heyman said he sees a potential future where both are “WrestleMania main events” either “against each other” or a weekend where “Saturday is main evented by one and Sunday is main evented by the other.”
“The learning curve that both have displayed is intimidating to say the least because we’re at the point where anyone trying to teach Solo or Jacob anything ends up learning from them as much as you try to teach them,” Heyman said.
The quality of story and performances being put forth has Heyman campaigning for himself, Reigns and others in WWE to finally be considered for and win Emmys — awards they have long been shut out from because pro wrestling is a unique form of entertainment that doesn’t fit nicely into any award category.
Heyman challenges some of the great actors of today he admires, from Gary Oldman (“Slow Horses”) to Walton Goggins (Fallout) among others, to give the usually flawless level of performance he and Reigns and other WWE stars put forth weekly on live TV in front of 20,00 people and not “crumble under the pressure” a rowdy crowd can create.
Heyman points to the whole Bloodline’s work in the Trial of Sami Zayn last January as an example.
“I’m not taking away from the greatness of these actors,” Heyman said. “I’m saying if you are going to consider people for an award, doesn’t it need to be also taken into consideration that we are doing something that they can’t do?
“And delivering a performance that drives numbers, like now the No. 1 show on all of Netflix (for Raw’s debut) and at the same time drive multimillion-dollar box-office recipes to see the story play out.”
It brings Heyman back to the fateful day back at the Garden, where the main event was not a wrestling match but a pivotal moment in their weekly story that had been built for weeks on TV, when Sikoa attempted to have him denounce Reigns and accept him as his Tribal Chief.
Heyman hopes the rest of the entertainment world can begin to recognize the much more sophisticated level of long-term weekly storytelling WWE is doing compared to what might have previously been associated with pro wrestling.
“No one left asking for a refund,” Heyman said of that night at MSG. “Everyone left feeling they had witnessed something that A, was historic, and B, had ramifications all the way through this year’s WrestleMania.”

Creamy Garlic Noodles Tips and Variations
This creamy parmesan pasta roni really doesn’t need much to make it incredible. I have included a couple of ways you can switch things up if you need some ideas.
Do you like it spicy? Try adding red pepper flakes to the noodles for some heat.
Do I have to use heavy cream? You can use whole milk in place of the heavy cream, but it won’t be quite as creamy.
Can I change up the pasta? You can use whatever noodles you have on hand. I like the texture of spaghetti noodles, but you could use angel hair pasta, linguini, or even bowtie pasta.
Leftover Creamy Parmesan Pasta Roni
Refrigerator: Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
