Renato Moicano Promises Brutal Night At UFC 311 For His ‘Old’ Beneil Dariush: ‘I Will Beat The Sh-t Out Of Him’

Old on old crime?

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) top Lightweight contender Renato Moicano kicks off his year in a big fight at UFC 311 this weekend (Sat., Jan. 18, 2025) as he takes on fellow UFC veteran Beneil Dariush inside the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California.

As everyone has become accustomed to, Moicano was loud and pretty humorous during his UFC 311 media day this morning (watch here). Still, one thing was very apparent: he is coming for violence this weekend.

“Saturday night, I will beat the sh-t out of Beneil Dariush,” Moicano told the media at the UFC 311 media day. “It is what it is. I don’t know why people are calling him old because if they call him old, they’re calling me old because I’m older than him. So don’t call him old. That being said, Saturday, I’m going to beat the sh-t out of the old man. Don’t be mad at me.”

Well, this is awkward, but Dariush is, in fact, 15 days older than Moicano, as both Lightweights were born in May 1989. (Dariush was born on May 6, and Moiano was born on the 15th.)

Putting Moiano’s age blunder and jokes aside, the Brazilian knows Dariush is dangerous and very aware of his skill set.

“I like him very much, and I respect him very much,” Moicano said. “He’s dangerous and has more knockout power than me. He has more knockouts than me. He’s very f—king awkward. If you remember his fight against Drakkar Klose, he was almost knocked out, and then he swung his arms, and he got the guy. He’s got good jiu-jitsu. He’s in a tough position with two losses, and I will make sure he ends up in a worse position now because I will beat him; it doesn’t matter if he’s good or bad. I can’t afford to lose.”
