BYB Extreme rebrands as BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing following landmark merger, VICE TV deal

Nearly one year after BYB Extreme Bare Knuckle Fighting Series acquired London-based Bare Knuckle Boxing, the new-look promotion will rebrand as BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing ahead of its March 22 live event at The Hangar in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England.

BKB 38: “Wolves Brawl II” will be headlined by the BKB Super Middleweight Championship rematch between LT Nelson and James Connelly, streaming live in the US and Canada on Vice TV. Nelson and Connelly battled to a draw at BYB 19 back in Aug. 2023.

“Collectively, BYB in the US and BKB in the UK created the modern-day sport of bare knuckle boxing,” said BKB CEO Greg Bloom. “Without visionaries like Mike Vazquez, Dada 5000, Jim Freeman and Joe Brown, bare knuckle boxing as we know it today would not exist. That’s an indisputable fact.”

“It is only appropriate that the world’s largest, oldest, most widely watched and fastest growing bare knuckle boxing organization in the world is now known synonymously with the sport it re-established in modern mainstream times,” Bloom continued. “We are Bare Knuckle Boxing.”

BKB first gained notoriety by showcasing the exploits of hard-to-kill Dada 5000, along with its unique (and frequently stolen) “Trigon” fighting platform. In addition, BKB execs helped transform gambling in the bareknuckle arena while also acquiring rights to the historic Police Gazette Diamond Belt.

BKB 38: “Wolves Brawl II” will also feature the BKB debut of former Bad To The Bone (BTTB) champion Simey Doherty, who collides with Scottish slugger David Winiarski. Elsewhere on the card, Mark “TNT” Tiffin looks to avenge his BKB 34 loss to Aaron “The Baron” McCallum.
