WTF is going on with UFC Seattle? Another great fight just got canceled!

UFC Seattle is cursed.

Not long after we lost the bantamweight banger between Dominick Cruz and Rob Font, the promotion lifted the heavyweight slugfest pitting Curtis Blaydes against Rizvan Kuniev to fill an open slot in the UFC 313 lineup next month in Las Vegas.

The hits just keep onnnnn comin’.

Ranked featherweight contender, Edson Barboza, has been forced out of his 145-pound showdown opposite Steve Garcia, according to MMA Fighting, previously scheduled for Sat., Feb. 22, 2025 at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington.

Barboza, 39, was felled by an undisclosed injury. It’s unknown at this time if the 32 year-old Garcia will remain on the card against a late replacement or be (temporarily) sent to the sidelines while Barboza recovers.

UFC Seattle will be headlined by the bantamweight contest featuring former 135-pound champion, Henry Cejudo, and No. 8-ranked Song Yadong. Elsewhere on the card, Brendan Allen and Anthony Hernandez rematch for a spot in the 185-pound title hunt.
