Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Jake Paul may have gained a little too much confidence from defeating Mike Tyson.
“The Problem Child” handled the former Heavyweight champion easy enough, almost entirely because Tyson is 58 years old and doesn’t have functioning knees. Now, he would like to add another former Heavyweight champion to his resume: Anthony Joshua?!?
“I know my boundaries,” Paul explained on his podcast BS w/ Jake Paul (via MMAFighting). “Here’s the thing: I want to fight Anthony Joshua — exclusive — because I know that I will f—king beat Anthony Joshua’s ass.
“He doesn’t have a chin, and he has no skill, and he’s stiff. And I love you, Anthony. We’re friends, all this sh*t, but I want to fight you.”
I wouldn’t expect Joshua to shy away from the challenge. The former four-promotion champion may have come up short to Daniel Dubois in his last appearance (watch it), but he’s still one of the very best big man of his era. Paul may want to have a chat with his PFL co-worker Francis Ngannou, who can tell Paul firsthand just how “no skill” Joshua is in the ring.
It’s not a very likely fight, but with Paul having moved up to Heavyweight at least once, it’s not impossible either. It would certainly be a spectacle, meaning plenty of viewers would tune in. More likely, however, is the highly anticipated Joshua vs. Fury match up is finally booked now that both men are without any major titles.
