Michael Chandler is still trying to score a fight with Conor McGregor and fight fans have finally had enough.
Earlier this month, McGregor made a visit to the White House to speak with President of the United States Donald Trump and exited that meeting wanting to run for President of Ireland. It’s still unknown at this time if McGregor is 100% all-in for a career in politics, but he hinted at taking a break from fighting on Thursday (see it HERE).
Fortunately for fight fans, they’ve grown accustomed to not seeing “Notorious” compete inside of the Octagon. McGregor, who remains one of the biggest names in combat sports today, hasn’t fought since suffering a leg injury in his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 all the way back in July 2021. The controversial UFC star has been sidetracked by movie roles, side businesses, health issues, and now politics, which have all put his official UFC return on ice.
Chandler, who was booked to welcome McGregor back to the Octagon at UFC 303 in June 2024 before the bout was eventually canceled, is still holding out hope that he’ll one day score a “Red Panty Night” payday opposite “Notorious.” Despite McGregor’s likely crossover into politics and slow return to UFC action, Chandler still plans on calling the Irish superstar out after his matchup with Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314 next month in Miami, Florida.

Of course, fight fans were quick to bash Chandler for once again planning on a fight with McGregor. It has been more than two years since the two fighters first started discussing a potential matchup inside of the Octagon. Fight fans just want Chandler to stop, but should he?
