UFC 313 headliner, Alex Pereira, has some work to do.
The reigning UFC light heavyweight champion is currently walking around at 227.5 pounds, which puts him 22.5 pounds over the championship weight limit of 205. That should come as no surprise considering Pereira, who turns 38 this summer, was galavanting about on his highly-criticized promotional tour just a few weeks before fight night.
How this 6’4” titan ever made the middleweight limit remains a mystery.
Pereira (12-2) will defend his 205-pound strap this Sat. night (March 8) in Las Vegas when he collides with No. 1-ranked division contender, Magomed Ankalaev (19-1-1), atop the UFC 313 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card in “Sin City,” a lineup that also features the reworked co-headliner pitting Justin Gaethje opposite Rafael Fiziev (not Dan Hooker).
