NY’s Kathy Hochul needs to give up the ‘resistance’ theater — and GOVERN

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is playing her “Resistance” air horn yet again.

“Once you draw first blood on us, you know we’re coming back hard, and I will be leading the resistance on policies like these where you’re hurting New Yorkers directly,” she blathered Monday on NPR of President Trump’s move to block her congestion pricing stealth tax.

Nonsense on stilts: A lot more New Yorkers feel harmed directly by her tolls than by Trump’s drive to kill them.

Gov. Kathy Hochul vowed to lead the “resistance” against President Trump’s policies that she claims are hurting New Yorkers. Hans Pennink

And chronic fence-sitting difference-splitter Hochul looks ridiculous posing as a fearless anti-Trump warrior, as in an insanely lame Rambo-themed ad from her campaign.

Not to mention that less than two weeks back, she was insisting her role vis-a-vis Trump is as a pragmatic diplomat.

“I’ve been asked countless (times) ‘Are you leading the resistance?’ — No, I’m governing the great state of New York,” Hochul told reporters then.

Actually, it’s all posturing, like pretty much everything from this gov.

She says whatever she happens to think will, right at that moment, score her some insta-brownie points and prop up her dismal approval numbers — e.g., 57% of state voters in last month’s Siena poll want to see someone other than Hochul run in the 2026 gov election

Which makes her desperate efforts to do “righteous anger” all the more laughable.

Were she serious, she’d be drastically out of step with what voters want: Trump won the presidential election convincingly and improved his support in New York state and city to historic levels by explicitly rejecting the prog politics at which Hochul’s gesturing.

Voters don’t want high crime, infinite illegal immigration and skyrocketing prices.

Hochul (and any other Dem still doing Resistance theater) needs to grow up and get over the fact that Trump won

The gov could just put on her big-girl pants and try to get the Empire State back on track.

But it’s clear that empty rhetoric and political point-scoring are her real priorities, not governing.
