Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight veteran, King Green, suffered a devastating first round knockout loss at UFC 313 last night (Sat., March 8, 2025) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when Mauricio Ruffy landed a picture-perfect spinning wheel kick from (watch highlights).
After another crushing defeat (literally), Green hopped on Instagram to react to his gnarly knockout finish.
“This is the game we play,” Green said. “There’s wins, there’s losses, it’s just how it goes, ya know? Shoutout to Ruffy — you did your thing, brother. I would like to see success in your future. Obrigado.
“Shoutout to everyone who rides with me,” Green added. “I love all of you guys. Thank you for supporting me through all of this bulls—t. We’re not done. I just need some more time to get myself back to being in the cage. We’ll be back.”
Green (32-17-1) is riding a two-fight losing streak and has been viciously put to sleep in three of his last four fights.
There’s no doubt that the 38-year-old Lightweight is nearing the twilight of his memorable mixed martial arts (MMA) career, so hopefully, he gets some gracious matchmaking and finds himself across some fellow veterans instead of another young, hungry up-and-comer.
