When UFC dropped its official poster for the upcoming UFC Kansas City fight card, headlined by the welterweight showdown between Ian Machado Garry and Carlos Prates, the first thing I did was Google “Orange Julius” to see if the O.G. smoothie king was still up and running.
It’s complicated.
Anyway, the promotion decided to roll out the smudgy, burnt orange look for Kansas City, giving it that Mad Max post-apocalyptic glow. Fans were divided on the effect, with some praising the unique style while others insisted the graphic artists were “cutting corners.”

Maybe it’s a homage to this burning addiction.
UFC Kansas City will also feature the the light heavyweight showdown pitting Anthony Smith against Mingyang Zhang. Elsewhere on the card, Michel Pereira and Abus Magomedov collide in the middleweight division, not long after Giga Chikadze and David Onama hook ‘em up at 155 pounds.
