After a year-long suspension because of a failed drug test, boxing superstar, Ryan Garcia, will make his long-waited return to the ring this weekend (Fri., May 1, 2025) to face Rolly Romero at Fatal Fury “City of Wolves” in Times Square in New York City.
Garcia recently had his suspension lifted by New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC), and the World Boxing Association (WBA) recently announced that WBA’s vacant regular Welterweight title will be on the line.
The card will stream LIVE on the DAZN PPV at 6 p.m. ET.
Garcia and Romero, as well as Devin Haney, Teofimo Lopez, Jose Carlos Ramirez and Arnold Barboza Jr. will make their “Grand Arrivals” today (Mon., April 28, 2025) to promote the unique three-fight event.
For Romero and Garcia, they finally get to fight for real after an infamous sparring session between the two years ago has gotten old.
“It’s like a TV show that don’t wanna turn off,” Garcia said of the sparring session. “Damn, man, is this like Friends, it won’t stop,” he added, while Romero — who allegedly got the best of Garcia in sparring, agreed.
“I ain’t even gonna lie, I’m tired of watching that s—t,” Romero said.
