Interview! UFC Atlanta’s Edmen Shahbazyan explains why the best is yet to come for him

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Edmen Shahbazyan returns to action against Andre Petroski next month at UFC Atlanta, taking place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Shahbazyan is coming off a brutal knockout victory over Dylan Budka at UFC Vegas 102 (watch highlights).

There’s no doubt that Shahbazyan has fallen short of the sky-high expectations set for him when he joined the promotion and ripped off a five-fight win streak, highlighted by a devastating head-kick knockout of Brad Tavares at UFC 244 in 2019 (watch it).

Since that Tavares knockout, “Golden Boy” has won only three of his last eight fights. To be fair, those losses came against tough competition, including Nassourdine Imavov, Anthony Hernandez, and “Blonde Brunson.”

After a rollercoaster of wins and losses in his last five fights, Shahbazyan finally began training with renowned head coach Eric Nicksick. This dynamic partnership signals that the best is yet to come for Shahbazyan, who is still just 27 years old.

Check out our exclusive interview with Shahbazyan ahead of his UFC Atlanta fight above. Oh, and his teammate Sean Strickland makes a … bizarre cameo in it.

Enjoy!
