Jack Della Maddalena busts into P4P rankings after winning belt at UFC 315

The latest UFC rankings update has gone live and it takes into account all the action from UFC 315 in Montreal, Canada over the past weekend.

The key shift in the rankings comes at welterweight after No. 5 ranked Jack Della Maddalena took out champion Belal Muhammad to become the new king at 170 pounds. As a result, everyone above Jack slid down one position: Muhammad is now ranked No. 1, followed by Sean Brady, Shavkat Rakhmonov, Leon Edwards, and Kamaru Usman at No. 5.

Della Maddalena also made his debut on the men’s pound-for-pound rankings at No. 9, while Muhammad tumbled six slots to No. 13. For some reason, Alexander Volkanovski also moved up two to No. 7.

The UFC women’s flyweight division saw a ton of changes as well. Natalia Silva moved up four spots to No. 1 at 125 pounds after beating Alexa Grasso, who dropped two spots to No. 3. Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber both dropped a spot each to make way for the new top contender. Canadian standout Jasmine Jasudavicius went from No. 9 to No. 6 at women’s flyweight following a dominant first round submission win over former champion Jessica Andrade. Manon Fiorot remained at No. 2 after losing to champ Valentina Shevchenko.

In the women’s pound-for-pound rankings, Alexa Grasso dropped two slots to No. 3, while Juliana Pena and Manon Fiorot moved up one rank each to No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. Natalia Silva jumped five slots to No. 8, pushing everyone below her down one.

At bantamweight, Aiemann Zahabi jumped from No. 15 to No. 11 after beating Jose Aldo in a close (controversial?) fight that saw him nearly finish a gassed “Scarface” in the third round.
