UFC Hall of Famer arrested for fourth drunk driving offense, currently in custody

Longtime mixed martial arts (MMA) analyst and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Hall of Famer Pat Miletich was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) on Monday (May 19).

He’s currently being held in Iowa at the Scott County Jail.

If this news sounds familiar, that’s because this is hardly Miletich’s first drunk driving-related offense. In fact, he was sentenced earlier this month to two years probation related to an OWI charge stemming from late 2023. Reaching a little further back, the 57 year old previously faced similar charges first in March 2019 and once more in July 2020.

The only other information of note on the Scott County website is Miletich’s fight name “Croatian Sensation” listed as an alias.

Back in the day, Miletich was one of the most rounded fighters of his era, the first great Welterweight champion who scored four title defenses. After losing his crown, Miletich focused on raising up a new generation of champions at his Miletich Fighting Systems gym, including Matt Hughes, Jens Pulver, and Tim Sylvia. More recently, Miletich has been a voice in the broadcast booth of various promotions around the globe.

Miletich retired from MMA in 2008, but he would return to action 15 years later in a grudge match against UFC veteran Mike Jackson for Caged Aggression MMA. At 55 years of age, Miletich would dominate Jackson for two full rounds before gassing so badly that he failed to answer the third round bell, coughing up TKO defeat in his final contest.
