“The Cannibal” just scored some cool custom shorts.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Flyweight king Alexandre Pantoja returns to defend his title for the fourth time against No. 4-ranked Kai Kara-France in the co-main event of UFC 317 this weekend (Sat., June 28, 2025) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It took three title defenses, but Pantoja finally got custom shorts just four days before the anticipated 125-pound title showdown… and they came out looking pretty cool.
Check them out below:
While Pantoja sticks to the UFC champion’s classic black-and-gold palette, his kit stands out with distinctive designs reflecting on heritage and personal style. The Vale Tudo kit — primarily black and red — features a dragon and waves.
A press release explained the champion’s ideas:
“Pantoja cites mythological Japanese dragons, icons of power, wisdom, and good fortune as the inspiration for his shorts. The design combines this mythology with a tribute to his Brazilian roots, featuring wave-inspired graphics that reflect the iconic beaches of his homeland – coming together to form a visual blend of heritage and identity.”
Pantoja joins an elite group of fighters with custom fight shorts, including Jon Jones, Ilia Topuria, Max Holloway, Merab Dvalishvili, Alexander Volkanovski, Alex Pereira, Paddy Pimblett, Julianna Pena, and Khalil Rountree, among a few special others.
