Booking Porter’s New Routes to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America

If you have your eyes set on any of these new routes, your best bet for earning or redeeming VIPorter points is a BMO VIPorter co-branded credit card.

For cash flights, the best return you’ll get comes with the BMO VIPorter World Elite®* Mastercard®*, which earns 3 VIPorter points per dollar spent on Porter flights.

Alternatively, you could use the BMO VIPorter Mastercard®*, which earns 2 VIPorter points per dollar spent on Porter flights.

Plus, both BMO VIPorter credit cards come with excellent welcome offers, which makes it easy to pad your VIPorter balance with points that you can redeem on these flights.

When it comes to redeeming points, one-way flights to all of these new sun destinations start at just 10,000 VIPorter points.

That’s an excellent redemption rate for the longer routes to Mexico and Costa Rica, which run in excess of six hours.

With the current welcome offers on the BMO VIPorter co-branded cards, that means that you could get up to seven one-way flights to sun destinations, or more than enough for three round-trip bookings for one passenger.

The introductory cash fares on many of these routes are also very appealing, so be sure to check them out before the lowest fares get snatched up.

As always, be sure to compare the difference between cash fares, points-only, and Dollars & Points options to see which offers the best bang for your buck.

From what we’ve seen, Dollars & Points bookings tend to offer the best value in terms of cents-per-point, as we’ve seen upwards of 6 cents per point on some bookings!

Conclusion

Later this year, Porter Airlines will take the exciting step of offering flights to five new destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Costa Rica.

This is a huge milestone for the airline, which has only offered domestic and transborder flights up until now.

If you’re interested in these flights, be sure to grab a BMO VIPorter co-branded credit card to maximize your earning on cash fares, or to earn a nice chunk of points which you can redeem on all five new routes.
