Alexander Volkov vs. Jailton Almeida in the works for UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi

The list of available title challengers just shrank by two.

Top 5 heavyweight hurters Alexander Volkov and Jailton Almeida have verbally agreed to a titanic tilt for the upcoming UFC 321 pay-per-view (PPV) card on Sat., Oct. 25, 2025 at Etihad Arena on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

MMA Fighting brought word of the matchup on Wednesday.

Volkov (38-11), currently ranked No. 2 at 265 pounds, is looking to rebound from his split decision loss to Ciryl Gane at UFC 310 last December. The controversial scorecards (see them here) snapped a four-fight winning streak for the 36 year-old “Drago.”

UFC 321 does not yet have a headlining fight.

Almeida is ranked three spots below Volkov at No. 5 and recently improved his record to 22-3 with consecutive victories over Alexander Romanov and Serghei Spivac. The 34 year-old “Malhadinho” holds 21 finishes in his career and just one loss under the UFC banner.

Expect more UFC 321 fight card announcements in the coming weeks, if not days.
