Tony Ferguson is getting ready to fight again, and this time it’s going to be in a boxing ring.
Ferguson hasn’t competed since an August 2024 loss to Michael Chiesa in the UFC — it was the 8th loss in a row for “El Cucuy” and his last fight with the promotion. A May bout against Dillon Danis in the GFL collapsed along with the entire promotion, but now he says he has a new gig lined up in August.
“I’m going into camp,” he told Red Corner MMA. “Right now I’ve got a fight on August 30th, it will be boxing. I can’t tell you who yet but it will be boxing and I’m slowly making my way there. But one win changes everything.”
“I’m not retired, I’m fighting in August”: Tony Ferguson says he’s not looking to hang up his gloves at all and will put on boxing ones on August 30.
The 41-year-old veteran also said he’s still considering MMA offers as well as other sports.

Ferguson is 41 and has never really been the same since a brutal war with Justin Gaethje back in May 2020. But he has no intention of hanging up his gloves.
“A lot of people use that stupid f—ing word ‘retirement.’ I don’t use that word,” Ferguson said. “I’m still competing. I’m 41. I’m faster than every single one of the people in this room. You wanna run and sprint? I’m still faster. I can do more pullups, more pushups, any kind of calisthetics, you can put your name on it.”
“I’m the only one who went through David Goggins’ hell week and everybody’s forgotten about that. My mind and my body are A+ and right now I am sharp and I’m getting sharper.”
“Blades and shades, baby,” he concluded with a smile. “We back.”
