UFC Nashville results: Matches to make for ‘Lewis vs. Teixeira’ main card winners

UFC Nashville went down last night (Sat., July 12, 2025) inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., which saw Derrick Lewis secure a knockout win over Tallison Teixeira in 35 seconds (see it again here). In the co-main event, Gabriel Bonfim walked away with a split decision win over Stephen Thompson (recap), while Steve Garcia upped his win streak to six after handing Calvin Kattar his fifth straight loss.

Winner: Derrick Lewis

Who He Should Face Next: Waldo Cortes-Acosta

Following his big win, Lewis called for a fight against Acosta simply because he doesn’t seem to care much for him. And why not make it happen? Once the new rankings are released, they will be sitting close to one another in the standings, with Lewis currently at No. 9 — he’ll move up a spot or two — and Acosta currently at No. 7. People already want to push Lewis toward a title fight, but that is unlikely to happen yet. Cortes-Acosta is currently on a five-fight win streak.

Winner: Gabriel Bonfim

Who He Should Face Next: Prates vs. Neal Winner

Bonfim upped his win streak to three in a row and is now 5-1 overall inside the Octagon following his win over Stephen Thompson, so Expect Bonfim to crack the Top 15. Up next, a fight against the winner of the upcoming fight between Carlos Prates and Geoff Neal, who are set to throw down at UFC 319 next month, seems like a good step.

Winner: Steve Garcia

Who He Should Face Next: David Onama

Garcia was one of our biggest winners last night after securing his sixth straight win by defeating Calvin Kattar after 15 minutes of action. Garcia should be looking at a spot in the Top 15, where Onama currently resides comfortably at No. 13. Onama has won four straight and was last seen defeating Giga Chikadze earlier this year.

UFC Fight Night: Petrino v Lane

Winner: Vitor Petrino

Who He Should Face Next: Mario Pinto

Petrino had himself a successful heavyweight debut by defeating Austen Lane via first-round submission. Up next, I wouldn’t mind seeing a showdown between he and Pinto, who also had last win also come against Lane, though he finished him via strikes. Pinto is just one fight deep into his UFC career, but it would be a good test for both men seeing as how Petrino is still getting comfortable banging with the big boys and Pinto — who is 10-0 — still looking to expand his resume inside the Octagon.

UFC Fight Night: Tafa v Tokkos

Winner: Tuco Tokkos

Who He Should Face Next: Bruno Lopes

Tokkos earned a new lease on his combat life after securing his first win under the UFC banner by submitting Junior Tafa (see it here). Prior to the win, Tokkos has dropped his first two fights inside the Octagon and a third would have likely lead to his departure. Now that he has that huge gorilla off his back, he can go a bit more calm and confident into his next fight, which could be against someone like Lopes. He is 1-1 under the UFC banner and is coming off a tough loss to Dustin Jacoby.
