Sydney Sweeney’s Controversial Ad Is Now on Las Vegas Sphere

Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle jeans ad has taken over the Las Vegas sphere amid growing controversy. She joined the jeans campaign of the clothing brand last month, and it has been the hot topic on the internet ever since. From some people calling out the ad for its allegedly racial undertone to Donald Trump praising Sweeney, the ad is all over the place.

Las Vegas sphere plays Sydney Sweeney’s controversial ad

The Euphoria actress’ recent American Eagle jeans ad has made its way to the famous Las Vegas sphere.

The clip was posted by American Eagle on their Instagram account. At the end of the ad, the tagline, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” appeared on the sphere. This advertisement follows the immense criticism the tagline of the ad attracted.

The controversy was further fueled after a clip of Sweeney in a denim ensemble headed toward a billboard, which had the tagline “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Genes.” As she finished painting the billboard and started to walk away, the actress crossed out the word ‘genes’ and replaced it with ‘jeans.’

However, the “great genes” tag came under fire for its racial undertone, as the phrase is known to be a symbol of thinness, whiteness, and attractiveness.

Moreover, American Eagle released a statement on Instagram responding to the criticism, in which they wrote, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”

Amid all the chatter, Donald Trump also chimed in and lauded the Anyone But You actress for her ad. In a clip on X (formerly Twitter), he conveyed, “She’s a registered Republican? Oh, now I love her ad. You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans. That’s what I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad you told me that. If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.”
