Alice in Borderland has achieved a rare streaming feat on Netflix with season 3, speaking to the popularity of the live-action manga adaptation. The sci-fi thriller is adapted from Haro Asō’s manga of the same name, focusing on Ryōhei Arisu and his friends becoming part of a series of death games in an alternate version of Tokyo, Japan.
Alice in Borderland season 3 was released on September 25, 2025, quickly becoming the Number 1 show on the platform during its week of release. This is despite the show earning the lowest critical ratings of all three seasons, getting a 63% on Rotten Tomatoes. Even so, the series proved itself successful, something echoed in a new, rare achievement it’s earned.
According to Netflix, all three seasons of Alice in Borderland hold places on Netflix’s Top 10 Non-English TV Shows for the week of September 29 to October 5, 2025. Season 3 is Number 1 with 46.3 million hours viewed. Season 1 is Number 8, holding 13.3 million hours, while Season 2 comes in at Number 9 with 12.7 million hours.
It’s quite rare for a TV series on Netflix to have three or more seasons and see them all in the Top 10 at the same time. While acclaimed series such as Bridgerton have achieved this before, Alice in Borderland season 3’s success isn’t as large-scale as some of the more popular shows on the platform.
Despite the dip in critical reception that season 3 brought about, its status as Number 1 for the second week in a row means plenty of audience members are still enjoying the direction of the series. Seasons 1 and 2 getting bumped onto the charts is also a good sign for the show, signaling a new audience is being captured.
This achievement may also be a strong sendoff for the series: Alice in Borderland season 4 hasn’t been confirmed as of writing. However, Alice in Borderland season 3 ended with a game-changing cliffhanger, one that could signal a very intriguing new chapter of the story. The full series’ success makes it more likely the show will get the chance.
With all three seasons of Alice in Borderland getting high viewership on Netflix, this rare achievement seems to be a good sign for the show’s future. Depending on how many tuning into seasons 1 and 2 are new viewers, season 3 might see even more traction in the week to come as more people catch up on the show.
