Jet2 issues major new Friday update on booked flights and holidays | Travel News | Travel

Jet2 has confirmed that it will not introduce surcharges on any booked flights or holidays, guaranteeing that customers will pay exactly the price they see at the time of booking.

The company said the move reflects a commitment to putting customers first and providing certainty at a time when many travellers are looking for reassurance over costs. By ruling out additional charges, Jet2 says customers can book with confidence, knowing there will be no unexpected increases later.

The policy applies to all bookings made through any channel, including online, via its mobile app, through its contact centre or with independent travel agents. The company added that tourist taxes are not included, as these are paid directly to accommodation providers in resort.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2, said: “Holidaymakers should have every right to book their hard-earned break in the sun, without worrying about being hit with additional costs, and they can have that complete assurance when they book a flight or holiday with Jet2.

“As a result of today’s announcement, customers booking with Jet2 know that they are locking in their price without additional cost surprises later and we strongly believe that is the right thing to do by them. Ahead of a busy summer this is yet more evidence of why, on top of our incredible holidays and award-winning customer service, nothing beats a Jet2holiday.”

The update comes ahead of the busy summer season, with millions of people preparing to travel. Jet2 said the decision reinforces its position in the market and builds on its record for customer service and reliability.

The company has received Which? Recommended Provider status in seven categories, while its airline arm Jet2.com has held the recognition for 11 consecutive years.

Jet2 also pointed to flexible payment options for package holidays, including a low deposit and instalment plans such as PayPal Pay in 3, as part of its wider offer to customers.
