Donald Trump Urges Kentucky Voters to Vote ‘Bum’ Thomas Massie Out

Donald Trump just went nuclear on one of his own party members ahead of a crucial primary vote. The president unleashed a fiery Truth Social tirade against Kentucky congressman Thomas Massie, calling him the worst in the country’s history.

Donald Trump slams Thomas Massie in new rant

Donald Trump launched a blistering attack on Kentucky’s Congressman Thomas Massie ahead of Tuesday’s Republican primary. The president took to Truth Social on Sunday to urge voters to “get this LOSER out of politics in Tuesday’s Election.” He also called Massie the “worst and most unreliable Republican Congressman in the history of our Country.”

Massie has consistently defied Trump by voting against his tax and spending cuts bill. He also helped force the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. Additionally, he pushed for congressional oversight over military actions in Venezuela and Iran.

The congressman now faces Trump-endorsed challenger Ed Gallrein in a tight primary race. A recent Quantus Insights poll placed Gallrein ahead of Massie 48% to 43%, with 8% undecided. Gallrein is a farmer and a retired US Navy SEAL.

Massie appeared unfazed during an appearance on ABC News’ This Week on Sunday. “I’m the only one they haven’t been able to bully,” he said. He added, “I’m ahead in the polls, and they’re desperate. That’s why the president’s losing sleep and tweeting about this” (via Guardian).

Meanwhile, Trump’s grip over the Republican Party tightened further on Saturday. Louisiana senator Bill Cassidy lost his primary after voting to convict Trump in the 2021 impeachment trial. Senator Lindsey Graham framed the stakes bluntly on NBC News’ Meet the Press. “If you try and destroy him, you are going to get destroyed,” Graham said.

House Speaker Mike Johnson echoed that sentiment on Fox News Sunday. He called Trump’s endorsement “the most powerful endorsement in the history of politics.” Only two of the seven Republican senators who voted to convict Trump in 2021 remain in office.
