Ken Jennings is speaking out about the enduring appeal of Jeopardy!, and while he thinks the game show resonates with fans worldwide.
74-game winner turned host Jennings was born in Seattle, Washington, but grew up overseas in South Korea and Singapore due to his father’s job. During those 15 years in Asia, one thing Jennings did consistently every day was watch Jeopardy!. The only station he got on TV was the one that aired the beloved game show, so he knows a little something about Jeopardy! being watched worldwide.
When asked at the LA Screenings 2026 event, he shared his opinion on the matter. ” I mean, obviously, Jeopardy! is about the excitement and the risk, but at its core, Jeopardy! is about the fact that it is fun to watch people try to remember something in their brain,” he said.
“And it’s fun to sit on the couch and try to do it along with them. I don’t understand why that is, but I think it’s just the idea that the facts in our head matter, like they’re important. They come up. That’s a beautiful feeling when it happens.”
Fans reacted to his answer and why they love Jeopardy! in the comments. “It’s the best show on TV. I love it because it’s fun to realize you know some of the answers,” one said.
“Plus, I learn a lot,” another commented.
“Jeopardy! is about ALL questions because people have gleaned all sorts of information about everything. It’s all important to somebody – and it’s fun trying to remember it on the fly. (Of course, I confess that I stop it so I have more time to think of the answer!),” a third added.
